Cordless Swivel Sweeper Touchless

This "Touchless" is even better than my first Swivel Sweeper. Being able to hold it over the trash and push the button to empty vs release a tray, pick it up, bang it on the side of the trash and find the holes to replace. It also has cleaning tools and a magnet that holds the "head" next to the pole for slimmer storage. I use it almost daily and charge it once a week. I have hardwood, tile and vinyl and also use it on area rugs so that I really don't need my vacuum. If I had carpeting it wouldn't suffice for more than quickie pick ups. There are 2 caveats 1) don't overcharge the battery. With my first I just left it in the charger for sometimes days between uses and I think I drained it so that it wouldn't hold a charge. Now I make sure I don't charge it for over 24 hours like the directions indicate. 2) it is a moderate pain to clean the hair out of the brushes. I also have a Roomba so I am used to cleaning the unit regularly. That said, I love it that it is so easy and quick; it goes under beds and sofas and areas that don't require you to move furniture. You just can't beat how easy it allows you to quickly clean your major areas daily in minutes. It doesn't scratch my wood floors,which was a concern. I don't know about you but I frequently "miss the counter" in the kitchen on a daily basis and don't like "feeling" stuff on my bare feet. Daily swiveling takes care of that in an instant.

Ontel Touchless Swivel Sweeper I have been a fan of the original Swivel Sweeper for several years, but am disappointed with the new "touchless" one. It does not pick up debris, dust, etc., as well as the original one. Most of the time, I have to go over the debris several times to get it to pick up. However, even though the new sweeper is not as good as the original one, I still would not be without it. The "Swivel Sweeper" is the best of the cordless sweepers, if you ask me.

I have no carpeting in my home except for a few are rugs. This is the 2ns Swivel Sweeper I have purchased, and I highly recommend it.

I just threw out a major brand of sweeper (Eureka) which was supposed to be a whiz at cleaning hardwood floors. Nope! It might pick up, for example, cat food IF the nozzle hole was EXACTLY over the kibble, and even then, it was iffy.

This Swivel Sweeper picks up cat hair, cat food, dust and debris better than anything else I've tried. IT's lightweight, powerful enough to do the job, inexpensive and lasts a long time. It also does a good job on low-pile carpeting such as area rugs,,,I imagine it would be good on regular carpeting, too... probably not as the major vacuum but ceertainly for quick pick-ups.

Do not hesitate to buy this!

Plus, Amazon is a PLEASURE to do business with.

I like this sweeper because:
1. I don't have to drag out the vacuum and mess with the cord.
2. It gets under cabinets and furniture that my vacuum misses.
3. It is light and easy to move around.
4. It is quiet.
5. It picks up stuff that I don't want to bend over and touch.
6. It empties easily.

Dislikes:
1. Hair gets wrapped around the mechanism, must be cut away.
2. Dust builds up in housing, must be blown off or wiped out.
3. The power switch is down too low, my wife said. You have to bend over to turn it on.
4. One of the nylon sliders popped off when I vacuumed my home gym, but it clipped back on and hasn't come off since then.

Buy one, they are really great!!!

I totally agree with those who say that this new touchless model is not as
effective as the earlier models (the ones without any red on them).
How can they take a perfectly good design, and then screw it up???
The new model still works, but like other reviewers are saying, you
have to go back & forth several times over some stuff to get it to
pick it up. That just was not the case with the old black models.
Too bad. Why did they fix it if it wasn't "broke"????
I still will probably keep using this new model,tho, because nothing else
can get into the narrow places that the Swivel Sweeper can.

Although this space is reserved for review, I would like to be kind and concerned and warn others to never ever buy this product or other products on the phone from the Ontel company--the TV commercials with telephone number. Amazon is secure, but the TV advertised phone service is nothing but a hustle. My friend wanted to buy the sweeper and by the time the recorded telephone service got finished with her, the bill was almost $160.00! She reached them just in time (after the weekend was over -they are closed) and cancelled Monday morning. Good thing she checked. They are slick!! I am warning others and she is calling Better Business etc. You may think you have made a purchase for $20 or $40... but then your charge account will be 4 times higher than you realize!

I like this because it is quck and easy. With 3 dogs and a cat our house needs swept daily. But if you get this for use with animals be prepared to clean the hair out of the brushes. Also there are certain little annoying things that my Lhasap Apsos/live mops bring in from the back yard that the sweeper just will not pick up. For some reason it sweeps it away rather than in to it. So it is mostly good for dirt and food particles but not that great for hair. I will still use it though because even with a regular broom I have to clean the hair off the brushes. That is just something I have learned to live with in exchange for all the joy they bring me.

This G2 sweeper is for my daughter who like me has cats. I have two of of these sweepers. The original model and the new improved G2 model. My old one I use in the two car garage on a concrete floor. I have two cats that sleep in here every night. Their food and cat box are also located here. I cannot imagine any sweeper doing a better job than this old unit picking up cat litter, hairs, almost anything you can think of. i even use it to pick up canned cat food that the cats knock of the plate. It is probably better than an electric real vacuum and absolutely trouble free. I am through cleaning up the entire double garage floor in less than 5 minutes and it does an outstanding job. Emptying could not be easier. It only weighs about 5 lbs and I just hold it over the trash container and press two buttons and the bottom opens and all the trash falls into my trash can. You can swivel this unit into almost any area. It works going forward or backward. It is so light a 5 year old could push it. I use it every night and of course there is always cat litter and hairs about so it is a real time saver. The brushes are even located on the end so I am picking up litter even when moving sideways and when swiveling. The initial charge is 8 hours and after that I charge it about once a week even when it still has some charge left in it. The new model G2 will fold in the middle of the handle to keep you from having to bend over. Frankly I never had to use this feature. You can get under the lowest of furniture or other items. I would guess you can get under a table that is 3-4 inches off the ground. If you want to fold the brush assembly up there is a magnet on the handle that will hold in up and it can be stored in the smallest of places. The only negative is that over time you can accumulate string or thread on the brush which I easily just pull out. I have never had it stop but guess it could if the thread was really tight and tough. The unit will automatically shut off if that should happen and you would have to remove what ever was stopping the brush from turning. On bare floors, concrete, tile, etc it is a wonder. I also use it on my carpet for a quick pick up of almost anything. The manual recommends you not charge the battery for more than 12 hours. Long battery life for both the new G2 and original and after my original charge I normally only charge it for 4-5 hours. My original sweeper's battery is still going strong after two years and has never failed. My new G2 which I only use in the house sure beats pulling out my big vacuum for small jobs. Over many years I have tried many stick vacuums and various other rechargeable swivel vacuums and nothing has compared to this unit. If your battery ever wears out I see there are replacements on Amazon. You want go wrong with this purchase. I even use it to run across some pillows my cats sleep on. I might add that it took me all of three minutes to assemble. Five stars all the way. I recommend you buy the new improved model as it is only a few dollars more.

I am very upset about my purchase. I ordered the touchless model and I have received the G2 model. Both of which I have owned in the past. Today I received my product and was VERY disappointed to realize I have received the G2 model, not the touchless model. There are 3 models that have been made by swivel sweeper, the 'Original Swivel Sweeper' which I mistakingly ordered a few weeks back thinking it was the touchless model and then returned it. 2nd is the 'Touchless Swivel Sweeper', and the 3rd is the G2 model which broke in 3 months of me owning it after receiving it as a Christmas Gift. I knew the moment I opened and put the G2 model together that it was going to break at the elbo. And sure enough 3 months into use and doneso!!! I returned to Kohls. Each model I have owned including the 'Original' when they first came out, then the 'Touchless model' both lasted me about 3 years each. Needless to say, I do NOT want the G2 model. I think it was poorly manufactured and is cheap. I realize the life expectency on these are not forever, and I am willing to pay to purchase one every 3 years if necessary because I love the product that much!! After returning the 'Original Swivel Sweeper' last week, I went onto Amazon, again not wanting to purchase the G2 model!! I placed my order because according to your picture and discription I thought I was ordering the Touchless model. To my dismay I received the dreaded G2 model.
My main concern is that I have tried to contact the phone# on your invoice 4 times now, and the phone# 1-718-204-7211 rings and rings and rings...then goes busy. What is going on?? Do you have the Touchless model, if Not I would like a full discount, and possibly even a coupon for a future order. I am extremely dissatisfied.

After sending in this review, and also a complaint. They sent me the link to return the item....but I am to pay the shipping!!! I should not have to pay shipping on something that is being falsly advertised. DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!

This item is so perfect for quick cleaning needs (like when company is expected in 10 minutes or less) it also is perfect for homes, apartments with pets as it picks up pet hair great to the point that it grosses you out how much pet hair is on your carpet and floors. It works on linoleum, tile, carpet etc and really really is the best sweeper for stairs where it is a pain to vaccuum ....

I truly have bought more than 12 so far for various occasions for friends and relatives especially those who have pets or just to make their lives easier. Of course it does not replace upright vaccuums but in between good cleaning days it rocks... the price is well worth it. Amazon makes it easy to ship as gifts and then give them a more personal gift on another occasion.
