3.0 out of 5 stars Great Book, Terrible Print Job, February 13, 2004

It was nice to see the book reprinted and I hope the rest of the series follows. The book itself is very clever and witty, deserving 4.5 stars. Unfortunately, the publisher has numerous typographical errors and several odd marks in the text that look like software errors. For example, there are many instances where the characters "@I" precede a word in brackets, which leads me to believe the publisher was trying to create italics but failed. In other areas, a small square replaces a letter, indicating a missing font. I can't believe the publisher would allow the bookout the door in this condition.
Unfortunately, it is either buy this version or spend a lot buying an OOP version. If I have to, I'll keep buying these over OOP, but I hope any future volumes are proofread first.

5.0 out of 5 stars The saddest story I ever read, April 27, 2000

I cried unconsolably for days after reading this book. The pathos, the sheer bleakness hit me like a ton of bricks...oh, I'm sorry, wrong book. I liked this book, cats are inherently funny, so when you combine cats with that other great element of comedy, Samurai, you have total comic genius. I laughed, I cried, I'd read it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Story 5 stars, print quality 1 star, January 8, 2007
I love Samurai Cat. Mark E. Rogers continues his tongue-in-cheek look at modern literature with this installment of the life of Miowara Tomokato and his psychotic nephew Shiro. I was so excited when I found this book that I bought it immediately. Unfortunately, when I got the book I was greeted with the WORST typographical errors I have ever seen. This is not the fault of Mark E. Rogers or the original publishers of this book. It was obvious to me that the current publishers purchased the rights to this book, slapped it on a scanner and printed it without even checking if everything worked right. Simply put, they have ruined a excellent book with their shoddy production techniques.
