About the Author

Elisabeth Waters sold her first short story in 1980 to Marion Zimmer Bradley for THE KEEPER'S PRICE, the first of the Darkover anthologies. She then went on to sell dozens of short stories to a variety of anthologies. Her first novel, a fantasy called CHANGING FATE, was awarded the 1989 Gryphon Award. She is now working on a sequel to it, in addition to her short-story writing and anthology editing. She has also worked as a supernumerary with the San Francisco Opera, where she appeared in La Gioconda, Manon Lescaut, Madama Butterfly, Khovanshchina, Das Rheingold, Werther, and Idomeneo.

I am grateful this series continues. Always well edited, the anthology gives a great message of powerful women. They may be fictional but they can kick butt.

I have read the series since MZB's first volume. Each edition I wonder how she or Elizabeth Waters can keep up the quality & variety - I've never been disappointed!

I have almost every one of these and I always look forward to the next. An occasional story that I don't like for personal reasons but they are all well written.

I love this series!!!! I look for it every year. I have all but the first book when Marion Zimmer Bradley was still with us. Ms. Waters is doing an excellent job putting together these stories. I hope this series continues!!!

I have read only a couple Sword and Sorceress books and each time I find and read one I want to know how many more i have missed. I love being able to lose myself for short periods of time in my chaotic life. Thank you so very much.

The MZB collection of stories is being kept up In fine style. Good read for airplanes and teens. Also for people wanting to taste sci fi/fantasy.
