5.0 out of 5 stars Morrissey - enough said
I like it when Morrissey makes it easy for us to collect the B-sides if we don't happen to live in the UK or missed a single release. The other brilliant bit is that we get to have a lyrics sheet. I enjoyed the live Warsaw recording, and love having more pictures of him. As for the music itself - "Christian Dior" feels like a true revelation of a bit of Morrissey's...

First of all, the bonus disc of live tracks is fantastic. The B-Sides, for the most part, are fairly weak, thus averaging out the package to 3 stars. Ganglord is probably my favorite track.

Here's my rankings of Morrissey's solo career, excluding most greatest hits and singles albums (except "Bona Drag").

I enjoyed the live Warsaw recording, and love having more pictures of him. As for the music itself - "Christian Dior" feels like a true revelation of a bit of Morrissey's soul; "Ganglord" is an LA rocker; "Drive-In Saturday" is a fun cover. And the tour was fantastic.

3.0 out of 5 stars Contract Fulfillment, December 29, 2011

First of all, the bonus disc of live tracks is fantastic. The B-Sides, for the most part, are fairly weak, thus averaging out the package to 3 stars. Ganglord is probably my favorite track.

Here's my rankings of Morrissey's solo career, excluding most greatest hits and singles albums (except "Bona Drag").

1) Viva Hate - maybe just because of my sentimental memories of this record when it came out... Favorite tracks - 1,3,6,7,11 & 12 - 5 Stars

2) Years of Refusal - Just a great album - Favorite tracks 1,3,4,5,6,8,11 & 12 - (worth noting I despise track 7?) - 5 Stars

3) Bona Drag - compiled of singles, but most in record form for the first time. So many great songs! - Favorite tracks 1,3-9,11,13, & 14 - 5 Stars

4) Your Arsenal - Another great album, and unlike Bona Drag, this is a true album - Favorite tracks 1-3 and 7-10 - 5 Stars

5) Ringleader of the Tormentors - Easily could be rated higher if not for a couple of slow duds. Several amazing songs on this record, esp. tracks 1,3,7 & 12 - 4-1/2 Stars

6) You are the Quarry - tied with Vauxhall and I - like "Ringleader", a couple of weak songs prevent this from being a 5 star album. Favorite tacks 2,3,5,7,8 & 12 - 4-1/2 Stars

7) Vauxhall and I -a really good album, might deserve better than # 7. Favorite tracks 1,5,6 & 11 - 4 Stars

8) Kill Uncle - Many consider this to be Morrissey's weakest album... Favorite tracks 1,3,9 & 10 - 3 Stars

9) Southpaw Grammar - An admirable attempt at longer songs... Morrissey's band, however, should never outshine Morrissey, and he sounds out of sorts through much of this album. Fav tracks # 1 - 3 Stars

10) Maladjusted - Great first song can't save this album, some of Morrissey's weakest lyrics. Fav tracks (US version) #1 & 10 - 2-1/2 Stars

Arrived on time, nicely packed. Good set of songs from Moz's catalogue. The live cd was a real bonus, but, could have contained more tracks. This is a must for the true Moz fans only.

This was a nice surprise to see Morrissey release a NEW album, practically new in its own right! I did not know this was a b-sides CD, from his last 4 albums respectfully, that I have never heard, when i pre-ordered it!?

I don't know if these were released as singles or not, but it's nice to have them all here, good to hear another gem after "Years of Refusal", which is one of my favs now from Morrissey, and I've been a fan since "Strageways Here We Come" (last Smiths ablum).

"Swords Deluxe Edition" is really worth it...comes as a double CD set with inserts, lyrics, photo insert, 18 b-sides on CD1 and a live Morrissey show on CD2. Great release Moz! The 2 CD's both look like Polydor vinyl records, haha...kinda neat, thought that was cool.

The only problem I have with this album, is that I think Morrissey could have picked a different photo shoot for the front cover, but other pics are good i.e. inserts look good. Poor Moz looks like he needs to go to the bathroom really bad on the front cover, LOL! Then again, he has a sense of humor, so maybe he did that purposely? I still give it 5 Stars anyway, of course. Moz never sounded better from Years of Refusal and Swords! Nice Surprise hearing this new cd after seeing him for the first time on the "Years of Refusal Tour" this Summer of 2009!

Buy the CD or save a little and buy the MP3's...sounds good either way!
