I did my B.A. and M.A. at the University of Toronto, my Ph.D. at the University of Montreal (1991). My works include FAINT PRAISE AND CIVIL LEER (originally by Ph.D. thesis), SWORDS IN MYRTLE DRESS'D, PIONEERS OF ALIENATION AND 50s SCI-FI AT THING STREET ASYLUM, THE SUPPORT WORKER OF EMILE DURKHEIM HOUSE, and TROPING THE ASYLUM. To my irritation the latter two are falsely repressented by a seller called BOOK ON DEMAND (HUMAN TOUCH PUBLISHING) as works originally published by in 1901 and 1840 respectively, and offered by them for "republication" - without permission of course!

I have lived on the edge for many years in Toronto, in an inner city neighborhood called Parkdale. The experiences this affords have been my inspiration.
