Book Description

October 30, 2005
Swords at Sunset is the final book in Michael Bradley's bestselling trilogy on Holy Grail adventures in North America from 1398 to 1571, completing the saga related in Holy Grail Across the Atlantic and Grail Knights of North America (the author's research skills were also put to good use in the movie The Da Vinci Code). In Swords at Sunset, Bradley draws on evidence from The Book of Mormon, plus newly discovered artefacts from Lake Memphremagog and the Niagara region. Bradley offers a convincing argument that communities of Grail refugees - who had fled the Inquisition in Europe - were established in Niagara and Vermont before being defeated by Native tribes in 1571. Swords at Sunset also examines the origins of man and the concept of the Holy Grail, offering a new and different perspective of the Western religious history that has shaped so much of the entire world's history. Swords at Sunset presents a thought-provoking interpretation that will astonish and intrigue.

5.0 out of 5 stars Add Swords at Sunset to your Holy Grail book collection, July 3, 2006

This review is from: Swords at Sunset: Last Stand of North America's Grail Knights (Paperback)
Swords at Sunset is an invaluable addition to anyone's book collection on the Holy Grail. The book is the third and final book in a non-fiction trilogy that began with Holy Grail Across the Atlantic and continued with Grail Knights of North America. Author Michael Bradley is a recognized Holy Grail expert who worked as a researcher for the Da Vinci Code movie. In Swords at Sunset, Bradley not only traces Grail refugees to Canada and United States, he uses ancient European weaponry from his archeological digs to contend the refugees and Knights Templar were here centuries before Columbus and met their end in clashes with Indians in Niagara and Vermont. An absolutely fascinating story that comes very highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swords at Sunset stabs heart of Da Vinci Code, April 8, 2006
This review is from: Swords at Sunset: Last Stand of North America's Grail Knights (Paperback)
Count me among the many people who are convinced Swords at Sunset is a much better book on the Holy Grail than the Da Vinci Code could ever pretend to be. The Da Vinci Code is an enjoyable if somewhat meandering thriller that raises a number of interesting possibilities in the realms of religion and political coverups. Although a novel, the Da Vinci Code does lay claim to a fair bit of factual research from other books and I suspect Swords at Sunset is one of them. Swords at Sunset author Michael Bradley is an esteemed Holy Grail expert who served as a researcher for The Da Vinci Code movie and his research no doubt also made it into the book as well. If you're interested in the Holy Grail, you'll definitely also want to read Swords at Sunset. Interestingly Swords at Sunset establishes quite convincingly a North American connection to the Holy Grail that predates Columbus by centuries. Both books are well worth a read, but in terms of thought-provoking research, Swords at Sunset is definitely the real deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Swords at Sunset and Holy Blood are both great books, April 3, 2006

This review is from: Swords at Sunset: Last Stand of North America's Grail Knights (Paperback)
Swords at Sunset and Holy Blood, Holy Grail present scholarly investigative research at its meticulous best. The provocative theories explored in these books are based on a careful setting out of facts and evidence that in turn leads to reasonable if somewhat earth-shaking conclusions. These are superb non-fiction stories that are far more compelling and intriguing than the fictional story offered by the over-hyped Da Vinci Code. Anyone interested in the Holy Grail will adore Baigent's Holy Blood book. Also highly recommended as a companion book is Swords at Sunset by Michael Bradley, who also employs thorough research and archeological evidence to contend that the Knights Templar spirited descendents of Jesus to North America centuries ago. The Holy Grail became particularly established in what is today Ontario and Quebec, Canada, and Vermont and New York State. Bradley also draws on The Book of Mormon to piece together an absolutely enthralling and "true" story of Grail knights at conflict with Indian tribes. It may seem too fantastic to be taken seriously, but the book is rich with supportive evidence, including photos of ancient European weaponry found at Niagara and remnants of centuries-old millworks in eastern Canada, plus evidence of "white" people on the Atlantic coast of both countries - centuries before Columbus. I highly recommend both of these well written and utterly captivating books.
