I recently bought a INWIN Mana134 case which has a 2x USB 3.0 port attached to the case but I got a USB 2.0 Motherboard that does NOT have a 3.0 header slot. I need a USB 3.0 PCI with 19 header and this works! I previously bought a no name brand USB 3.0 PCI with 19 header and could not get it to work, tried multiple drivers and to no avail.
I am on Windows 7 64BIT Professional. I installed the PCI, attached the power, and the 19 header (front 2x USB 3.0) and booted up, installed the VLI driver and restarted, the 2x USB 3.0 in the back are recognized and 2x USB 3.0 front are recognized. I will update with speed test

Installed in my Cooler Master 922 HAF case. The version of this case that I bought came with USB 3.0 ports in the front and my MB only has headers for USB 2.0, thus the reason for purchasing this card. The 19 pin header fit my cases front panel connector like a glove. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium, and the install was just as easy as the hardware install of the card. You will need the driver disc that comes with this card, Windows didn't recognize the card, just that there was a new device installed. The cards with the onboard header are rare and I was very pleased that this card solved my problem with getting the front connectors to work. As far as transfer rates, I mainly use a USB 3.0 Corsair thumb drive that I have formatted NTFS. I am getting on average around 92 MBS. Compare that to the 26 MBS I was getting with the same drive in USB 2.0 and you can see that it's well worth the money for this card.

I chose to give the Syba SD-PEX20122 2 Port USB 3.0 with 19 Pin Header PCI-E x1 Card a shot in my Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 (rev. 1.0) for two reasons:

1. It's one of the few PCI-E USB 3.0 expansion cards that actually has a header that I can use to connect to the front USB ports. Most other cards have a USB port on the card itself which I find kinda useless since the header itself supports 2 ports instead of just 1.
2. It's based on the VIA USB 3.0 host controller which is supposed to be more reliable than the NEC/Renesas that's on the Gigabyte Motherboard

To make a long story short... I couldn't get it to work with Windows 7 64-bit. One review on another very popular shopping site for computer components stated that the reviewer (who had the same mobo) had to upgrade to the Gigabyte UEFI BIOS to get it to work.

I tried that and I had no luck. I tried various things like: disabling the onboard USB 3.0 ports, changing the BIOS and playing around with various combinations of the BIOS settings including xHCI and eHCI hand-offs.

No matter what I tried it still wouldn't work. The expansion card was recognized by Windows but the peripherals I plugged in (USB 2.0 and USB 3.0) wouldn't work or even get power. I tried to different versions of the drivers (1.80A and 1.90A) but still no luck. There's always a possibility that the one I received was defective but I really didn't want to waste any more time on this and there are no signs that it was indeed defective.

So it went back. Not recommended. USB 3.0 still seems to be in its infancy.

Okay. I should have known. Too cheap from an unknown manufacturer.

The good:
- USB 3.0 is fast and this works for that purpose

The bad:
- Bad drivers that cause the computer to not sleep. The computer won't even shut down. It just resets and will not go to sleep. I remove the card and the computer works normally. This card needs better drivers (Windows 7 x64)

Summary: It works, but expect issues with it. I am unable to live with a computer that won't sleep.

Works great, and it's only about twenty bucks. Do not use the driver that came with the card; After physical installation restart your PC a few times, so it can detect the card and download the driver from drivers-download.com; use the DL code DL-0313102 to search for the driver.

This product works fine as advertised. Two minor things should be noted:

1) The instructions say that plugging the card in to your computer's power supply is optional, and is only needed for "things that require extra power, like 2" USB drives". This is not true. I was unable to get a USB 2.0 thumb drive to work, nor a USB 3.0 multi-function card reader plugged in to the internal USB port, until I supplied power.

2) Do not throw the instructions away! The driver CD supplied has multiple drivers, from multiple vendors, for various peripherals not related to this card. You will need the instruction paper provided to figure out which one to install!

Other than that, this is a nice, cheap option to upgrade your older PCI-Express with USB 2.0 only mobo

I bought this to give some 3.0 ports to my server. Went in with no problem, hooked up a front panel connecter set to the header, and then came the driver hunting. It seems that Syba crammed every driver for its cards into a single disk, and gave this with all of its products. I was able to find it after about 5 minutes, but it should have been simpler. After this, I was able to get it working and I tested both 2.0 and 3.0 devices properly. I would recommend and buy again.
