Case fan Y-Splitters have been around for quite a while. However, most of the previous styles have NOT been produced with a hooded type of connector for the male connection end. Since these splitters generally are used to carry current from the motherboard to two case fans, they have a live circuit whenever the computer is turned on. In the other open-type male connector ends, if the case fan female connector should somehow get dislodged from the splitter, the then exposed male prongs on the other styles could easily contact a metal surface within the computer case, or some portion of the motherboard itself, causing a short circuit and the distinct possibility of severe damage to the computer or even a fire. These are the only types of Y-Splitters that I use, and recommend them to everyone else as well. Enjoy.

these work great if you dont mind having to snip one of the yellow wires out , as you cant have both fans sending RPM data back. I am confused why they did make both sides have the yellow wire, but I used all 5 of the ones I bought after clipping this wire off one side.

These are well designed functional connectors. The two I received had only one yellow (rpm) monitor wire on one fan connector [meaning select which fan you want to monitor]. Plus continuity checks were done on all terminals without fault.

Just bought a 200mm led fan to make it 5 fans in my XION Predator 970 case. Could only hook up 4 fans with my Scythe 4 channel fan controller. Thought I would give this a whirl and use it for my 2 120mm top exhaust fans and it works pretty good. Didn't mind the fact that it wasn't sleeved as it is hidden very well so its all good. Would recommend.

These worked perfectly and as expected. As others have noted, I did have to cut the yellow wire from one side to allow the motherboard to report the Fan RPM properly. This, of course, only reports for one fan though, still better than none.

This cable works fine although connectors are a bit difficult (tight) to insert making it hard to feel/see it "snap" together. This may be just the fans (cooler master) I am using so, overall, I recommend this connector for it's intended purpose.

5/31/2011 Update:
I purchased 2 more of these fan connectors and they appear just the same as original although they are in IO Crest labeled packaging rather than Syba...I believe these to be the same company/affiliation. Still, a tight fit, well made, assuring positive connection. These connectors work fine and well serve the purpose intended.

Honestly I thought about doing some in depth review on these case fan splitters, but honestly things are pretty straight forward. I've bought many and they have worked each and every time I've never had a fault in them.

When I build computers many consumers think filling every last available fan slot is the answer to cooling their computer, I won't go into that, but I do try to oblige them and I will fill the case, that's where these splitters come in handy. Even in 2013 many motherboards only come with 3-4 case fan connectors while cases can have 6-10 fans... I prefer not to run a fan controller for most people as they just want things to work without any input on their end. so I use these splitters, I've never had one fail and I've never had one with the speed data return wire on both sides.

These do come with a hooded connector which I feel is essential since both sides are live when you turn on your motherboard and if one comes loose or you just have one side disconnected you don't want to short out anything.

They are consistently within .25 inches of 7.75inches every time, I have had one almost 8 inches long and one closer to 7.5 inches but they are usually spot on or within a couple millimeters...

5 stars for 0 failures and solid quality.

They work fine, came on time and were as advertised, I wish everything online I bought could be as great across the board.
