THis is a good book even for SQL programmers to get insight of tuning stored procedures and physical side of database (Sybase). Simple easy to understand. Must have familiarty with underlying priciples of database design.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very dated book, there is better, July 24, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Sybase Performance Tuning (Textbook Binding)
This book does not cover sp_sysmon that came out with Sybase System 11. There is a better book on the market and even the standard Sybase documentation on Performance and Tuning is better.
