A Christian Nancy Drew type series...,
This review is from: Sydney's DC Discovery (Camp Club Girls) (Paperback)
Book two of the Camp Club Girl series, finds the girls back at home but still keeping in touch. Elizabeth comes to visit Sydney in DC, and the girls quickly find themselves in the middle of a great mystery and possible terrorist plot.
I enjoyed this action filled mystery. As a mom, I'm wondering why these girls are allowed to travel all over the DC area by themselves. Maybe that's because we've lived in the DC area, and I know how crazy things can be there. There is no way I'd allow my daughter to do the things these girls do on there own. Then again, this is fiction and not real life... The scripture in this book flows better with the story line than it did in the first book. My daughter continues to really enjoy this series. She can already name all of the girls. She enjoyed following them along on their latest mystery. She is looking forward to reading more of this series in the future. Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from Barbour Books for the purpose of writing a review on my blog. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own.

My niece loved receiving this book. It is hard for her to find books or items with her name on it. It is even harder to find items with a little girl of her similar ethnicity. This collection is perfect. Since I have been to D.C. and she has not, she wants to read about the location and is planning to convince her parents to take her.

Sydney's DC Discovery is number two in the series of the Camp Club Girls. In this book Sydney and Elizabeth find out that strange things are happening at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The other girls keep in touch and help out because they all saved up and bought web cameras. Kate, being a genius and all, made the website they went on to talk to each other and put a secret password that only the girls know. Elizabeth's uncle came to visit some friends in D.C. so Elizabeth came with him to visit Sydney. They follow men named Moose and Rusty around D.C. and try to find out who their boss, the Professor, is.
When Sydney and the girls think it might be Beth's (the girls call Elizabeth, Beth) uncle she is very upset and doesn't talk to Sydney for a while after defending him. They soon realize that it can't be Beth's uncle and they save President Meade. Sydney runs as fast as she can and saves the day. I would tell you what/who she was running with but I do not want to ruin the surprise and the book. I thought that this book was even better than the first book Mystery at Discovery Lake! This book was provided by the publisher as a review copy via NetGalley.

Wholesome Fiction for Tweens,

This book is a fun read for the nine to twelve set. The mystery centers around Sydney and Elizabeth, but the other Camp Club Girls help from a distance. They put their brains together and use their talents, like Sydney's running ability and Kate's knowledge of technical gadgets to help save the President of the United States.
I can totally see a family movie being made of this series of books, but especially Sydney's D.C. Discovery. It covers a large scope in terms of area/setting and plot. What a neat, wholesome gift this book (or series!) would be for the young girl in your life. I was given this book to review for my personal blog, no other compensation was given and all my opinions are my own.

I was given this book to review and it too me back to my youth when I use to read alot in summer. I really enjoyed the adventure in this book with the 6 girls that met at camp continuing there friendship and working together to solve another mystery. I may be an adult but I really cant wait to read more in this series. I think tween girls will love this book and series.
