This review is from: Sylva (Mass Market Paperback)
Jean Vercors is a national hero for his role as a FRench Resistance leader in the WW 2 and probably because of such on the knife-edge experience, his writings has always been probing and profound. In this instance, through the unlikely scenario of a hunted fox's magical transformation into a frightened and helpless woman,Vercors dwelled into the very human emotions of love and lust, hopes and disappointments, loss and rebirth, played out in a sweet and bitter triangular relationship between the male protagonist, his platonic girlfriend and the transformed vixen.
