Amazon's price on this item is wonderful. Shipping was very prompt, and item arrived in sturdy packaging with no damage. Ballast performs very well with T8 tubes, but with one unhappy side effect--it interferes seriously with reception of several channels on our Sharp Aquos HDTV when in use. It is installed in a separate room from the TV. We have three TV sets on an antenna system, but only the one suffers from this interference. I was tempted to buy five of these ballasts, but decided to hold off until I tried one sample. I'm now trying to find a way to remedy the interference. I advise trying just one ballast before taking the plunge to convert several light fixtures to T8 tubes and electronic ballasts as I was going to do.

I purchased these to replace some older magnetic ballasts. At the same time, I converted over from T12 to T8. Wiring was very simple following the diagram, and I replaced four 1 lamp ballasts with two of these 2 lamp ballasts in about 2 hours time.

Where the old ballasts flickered and hummed (and some were just plain dead), these new ones are quiet, instant on, and no flickering.

My wife wanted to completely replace all of the lighting in the kitchen because it wasn't bright enough. I replaced the ballasts instead, and now she is perfectly happy! (I use daylight bulbs I purchased from Home Depot).

Side note: I also purchased an AccuPro ballast from Home Depot before ordering from here. After 18 months, that ballast (at almost 2x the price) has now died. The Sylvania is still going strong.

I have replced my electromagnetic ballasts in my fluorecent fixtures with electronic and change the lamps from T-12 to T-8. You have to follow the wiring diagram and rewire the fixture, but the results are outstanding.

I had a light fixture with old flickering T12 bulbs, and learned that T8 tubes will fit in a T12 fixture, they consume less electricity, and they're brighter. All you have to do is replace the T12 ballast with a T8 ballast like this one. There are websites that show you how to do the wiring. It's not hard, and the new lights work great.
