Perhaps the other reviewer had a bulb going bad already. It works fine for us, running 4 x 4' F32T8 bulbs. We bought one of these a month ago and just ordered another.

I replaced 2 2-lamp ballasts with this ONE and it works perfect. It lights up all four of my 4' F32/T8 lamps! Maybe the one guy was shipped the wrong one and should have returned it or didn't wire it correctly. Price was way lower than any local hardware store and NO tax w/ free shipping! Can't beat that.

This item arrived quickly. Installed easily and makes my florescent lights work again! Four stars due to poor packaging and some shipping damage but otherwise great product at a great price.

I just had four of these installed. They replaced 35 year-old magnetic ballasts that were working well. However, I decided to upgrade to electronic ballasts to reduce energy consumption, decrease heat, and get rid of an annoying buzz from two fixtures. And for all these the new ballasts work great. Each new ballast replaced two older magnetic ones, the buzz is gone, and I can also now use my choice of one, two, three or four bulbs in each fixture whereas I previously had to use T12 bulbs in matched pairs.
Unfortunately, I didn't realize until after installation that these electronic ballasts have a lifetime of about 10000 hours, and even less if left on for more than 10 hours at a time or if frequently switched on and off. In my case this means that two of the ballasts (running about 10 hours 300 days a year) will need replacement in just over three years, and the other two (running 24 hours a day continuously) will need replacement in a year or so. I buy bulbs rated at 30000 to 40000 hours because I hate changing bulbs. I am NOT happy with the idea of regularly changing ballasts even more often than bulbs! A short lifespan is apparently a feature of all currently available electronic ballasts. Hence this should not be taken of a criticism of these particular ballasts, which work quite well.

If you go to a big box home improvement shop, you'll be paying at least twice the price for a very similar Ballast. This installed very easily and works great. Great price!

The title says "4-Lamp 120-277 volt .. for 4' T8 .." but the item clearly states that it is a 4-Lamp 3' setup. You can only use three 4' bulbs as marked. I know, I ruined my fourth bulb. Luckly for me I bought 2 of these, now they are running 2 bulbs each.
