Disappointing,
By A Customer
This review is from: Sylvania 6513VD 13-Inch TV/DVD Combo (Electronics)
Picture is fine, controls are fine. But over half the time when a DVD is played, the disk reader makes enough noise to drown out the sound from the film. I'm returning it.

Do not waste your money,

I will never again own a Toshiba electronics product. I purchased this TV under the Toshiba label as the Toshiba MD13N1 on 16 February 2003 as a birthday present for my wife. After approximately 6 months, it began to have problems playing DVDs. Some would play, others would not, giving the response "Incorrect Disc." There was no logic or consistency as to why one would work and the other wouldn't. After contacting Toshiba, I had to drive 90 miles to deliver the TV to the nearest Service Center. Of course, by now, the TV is out of warranty for labor, but still covered for parts. Unfortunately, the part is now out of stock and has been on back order for 6 weeks with no forecast for when it will be available. I have made repeated calls to both the local Service Center and the national Toshiba Customer Service Center, each time receiving from each business the response that they have no knowledge of what the delay in getting the part is or even have a record of talking to me before, but they will look into it and get back to me quickly. They never call me back. If and when I ever get my wife's TV back, that is the last time I will ever have any dealings with Toshiba or their subsidiaries.

We received this product in a somewhat odd package, which I'm not 100% protected it from damage. The TV probably works fine, but we only needed it to play DVDs for kids in our office, and as of now the DVD does not work. We will have to buy a DVD player now, to hook up to this old device!
