Very cool coaster,

Very cool coasters. The light is focused up into the glass and refracts off the liquid and ice. Champagne looks awesome. I wanted an LED coaster that didn't flash and these are perfect. Note: two did not work out of the box but a small piece of tape on the bottom switch corrected that. Overall very happy.

These coasters produce a pleasant light-changing effect when objects, such as drinks or bottles, are placed on them. The actual design of the coaster is a little cheap-looking, as mentioned in a previous review, but the LEDs look cool when in use.
Since this is a 4-pack of coasters, the price of each coaster is cheap enough to overlook the fact that they don't have a slicker design. I hear OSRAM makes a product called LUXpod, which is a more elegant version of a color changing coaster, but I have not been able to find them in the US.

Fun party gift, but not the best design. The surface where your drink sits is made of plastic and is textured in a sort of fan/seashell pattern that seems weird. I guess they made it this way so the colors would look better, but drinks feel unstable on the coaster. The activating switch is small and located on the bottom, which doesn't always trip....i.e.- If the coaster is on a tile counter and the switch is right on the grout, it won't turn on. Batteries are non-standard as well...most people will probably throw coasters away when batteries run out. On the upside, they're neat to look at and the colors cycle slowly. Overall, these are fun, impractical coasters.
