They're a headlight.

I bought four of these headlights as they fit both our dissimilar cars; a 2000 Dodge, Durango and a 2007 Pontiac, G5. The brighter, more expensive headlights burn bright and then burnout in short order as we've learned on our son's G-5. The brighter, more expensive lights seem to last roughly six months and then we're buying more. If you're doing a boatload of night driving and use the high beams a lot, then the more expensive headlights are not the way to go unless you have a fat wallet to match their short lifespan. We're retired and don't have a fat wallet. These lights, for our daily driving needs, is the ticket in that they're relatively inexpensive when compared to the "brighter" lights and they last much longer. And, if you have a Prime membership, two-day shipping is included.

A FWIW consumer tip:

The rule of thumb is to replace both lights at the same time. Yeah, must have been a rule the headlight manufactures association wrote. My recommendation, always keep on hand extras, whether in the garage, the automobile's trunk or both and then when one headlight goes out, install the at the ready spare. Doing it this way, you'll always get full use out of all the bulbs you buy as opposed to doing it the manufacture's way; throwing good bulbs away at greater personal expense to you the consumer. I get the sneaking suspicion that this manufacture's rule, regarding the replacement of both light bulbs at the same time, somehow fattens the manufacture's bottom line. Doing it their way is guaranteed to shrink your bottom line and is bad for the environment as it encourages the wasting of......"PERFECTLY USEFUL HEADLIGHTS."

Hope the above helps.

For my 2002 VW Jetta wagon. Local car parts stores only had hopped-up versions, with bluer light and shorter life. I wanted low maintenance. Amazon had the perfect match to the original Philips bulb, and with free Prime shipping.

Original Philips headlight bulb also was labeled HB5LL, as well as 9007LL. 12v, 65w/55w

Bought a set of these for a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. Nice and bright. Not over powered or purple light. Nice white light that has a long service life and good price.

This bulb works well in my 1999 Pontiac Sunfire GT. It seems as bright as the OEM bulb in the other side.
