Works as promised. Both the DVD and VCR players are easy to use and have sharp pictures. VCR programming for timed TV shows very cumbersome but usable.

I wanted to buy a small VHS/DVD unit for my bedroom and I had both limited space and limited money. This is hooked onto an old style (non-HD TV) and it works perfectly. I watch a lot of tapes as they're generally very inexpensive through amazon. I would recommend to anyone wanting a good back-up machine to buy one of these.

Simple to install and use, unlike the more spendy units we've purchased in the past. Very pleased with quality, price and useability.

Bought a refurbished one of these from DiscountJungle. It looked great out of the box--packaged nicely, clean, all pieces wrapped in plastic, batteries for the remote included. But the very first DVD I tried to play wouldn't work. No other DVDs worked either--everything showed "Disc error." Time to pack it up and ship it back.

Irritatingly, DiscountJungle's return policy makes you pay return shipping and a restocking fee, and makes no exception for dead-on-arrival items. So I ended up completely throwing away $20 or so. I would be very careful of this company--there's very little incentive for them to avoid sending you a dead item.

The category I wanted was DVR/VCR combos. But as soon as I selected 'sort by price,' without warning, Amazon showed me a list of *all* combos, even DVD/VCR. So I didn't realize this one was not a DVR, so bought it. After it arrived, I figured out that I has been misled by Amazon's swicheroo. But since I thought I should have been smart enough to catch Amazon's flip-flop, and that it was Amazon's fault, not the seller's, I did not return the product for refund. I gave it to a friend who didn't have any TV recorder/player. So 5 stars for the seller. The machine arrived very promptly, safely packed.
