Unreliable product,
By
This review is from: Sylvania LC320SLX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I understand the good reviews for this TV on here now. If I had posted this review a week ago, I would have written good things as well. However, it is currently 8 months after I got this TV, and it started having a burning smell yesterday. Then, while I was watching TV today the Screen went black, and nothing but a high pitched whine came from the speakers.
After trying to find a fix for the problem online, I found that this model is notorious for this problem. It is extremely unreliable, and mine ended up lasting longer than most others have. The problem is costly to fix and will likely recur, so I strongly recommend finding a non-Sylvania brand TV to buy as this one is not only unusable after a short period of time, but a potential fire hazard from what I can tell from the smell it makes.

Sub Par TV,
By
This review is from: Sylvania LC320SLX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
The LC320SLX is a low end TV offering the lowest possible specs, components and price. Funai (Sylvania) markets this TV for department stores targeting consumers looking for low cost deals. The off side to the price is little to no costumer support, poor quality manufacturing, and a one year warranty.
The LC320 models in general are sub par in performance and engineering. 720p and 60hz is the lowest possible quality you can buy for a LCD, LED or a plasma. The LC320 models generally have a life of about 1 to 3 years before the board burns out. Funai (Sylvania) has a record for making cheap TV's and you get what you pay for. The best word of advice I can give is to spend a little more and save a lot more in the long run.

Good Value For The Price,

Pros: Picture looks great, sound is ok, programs really well, HDMI connection is a plus.
Cons: Can't get Cox Cable remote to program to operate TV. I see other people have had problems w/ other systems trying to get remote to operate TV. After a call to Cox and one to Sylvania, and not getting anywhere, i did the following. I programed the Cox Box to only power the the AC outlet on the back of the box to only get power, when the cable box is on. That took care of the on/off of the TV. Next had the Cox Box control the TV volume through it and that took care of the volume. Now i don't need the TV remote to operate the TV. Hope this may help someone.

Horrible TV,

HI! I bought this TV (from Kmart) hoping to watch the Super Bowl on it. I plugged it in Sat. night and about an hour later, got a huge headache from the burning smell coming from it. I thought it was burning dust and what not off the lights and it would be better Sunday. Turned it on again, 1/2 way through the Super Bowl, my son and I both had huge headaches from the smell of it. (I finished the Super Bowl on my analog TV).
I decided to get online and see what was causing the burning smell. What I found was astonishing. This TV goes out within 5-12 months, you get horrible customer service from Sylvania and the TV is a discontinued model. I cannot get a headache every time I want to watch TV. Yes, the picture is great and the sound, too, but it's not worth a cent when it will die soon. I am not the only one smelling the burning smell, (except on these reviews). Please, if you want a lasting TV, don't buy a Sylvania brand. Go to reviews and see all the complaints from other people. People who have had the TV, for a month can't give a good review (unless it has a burning smell). Read the ones who have had it for 5 months or more. If you have bought your TV recently, good luck with it. I am returning mine tomorrow and will buy a Samsung or Sony, probably from Amazon. I hope this helps someone out on not getting stuck with a nasty TV. Google search this TV, read the consumer reviews and common complaints yourself. The best one was the family who bought 3. One went out within weeks, the other within 5 months and still waiting on the 3rd one to go out.

this is a great tv, i was surprised at the weight of these tv's. easy to move to keep clean around your set, unlike the old set that weighed a ton and recieved less dusting because of it, i also found that i can not use cable remote to control volume or turn off the set, so far now i use 2 remotes. if any one has the solution to this problem please let us know

Horrible picture quality,

I bought this TV from my local BJ's and it might have the worst picture quality of any flat screen I've ever seen. Any dark areas found in a light area (like eyebrows or nostrills on someones face) leave trails as the actor moves. The only way to fix this is to turn the brightness up so far that the picture looks pale and lifeless. The DVD feature is nice and works well, but without a quality image there isn't much to save this product. I also went to the store and looked at the LD320SS1 model and it had the same issues.

will last you a good 8 months then goes black,
This review is from: Sylvania LC320SLX 32-Inch 720p LCD HDTV (Electronics)
I bought this tv feb 2010 and november this year thanksgiving I was watching tv and the screen turns black.
all sylvania tv has only 3 months labor and 1 year warranty. but whats the point? of the 1 year warranty on parts when the labor isn't included. this tv is junk. the tuning sucks. changing channel is slow. if you like gambling? take your money to vegas. if you want to lose money this is your tv. but I guarantee you before the year is over you will be mad. becoz you still bought this tv. and your calling the manufacturer. and they could care less becoz they only make cheap tv that is meant to last less than a year. do not put your money on this brand becoz they will take your money... knowingly that your tv is only warrantied for labor 3 months. they warranty the parts but guess what? the labor will cost you another 100-150. to fix a tv that should work beyond a year. hell it should work like real brand name tv. 5-10 years 15years...

This tv was pretty decent for the price until it died 7 months after we purchased it... We couldn't get it to work with our cable remote either (like a previous poster), which was annoying.

Great TV!,

I've had this TV since October of 2009 and have had no problems with it. We got it right before we moved into our new house and didn'y use it until we moved in. The DishNetwork man just set the dish remote to control the TV too so I haven't had any issues like the other reviewers have. No strange smells, either. Just a good TV! We got it for $300 at Target and couldn't be happier with it!
