Purchased to replace a 13-in tube set. Very satisfied with price & quality. It's also lightweight and sleek. Able to set up right out of the box and the picture is extremely clear with vivid colors. Able to pick up digital channels not previously available on non-digital tube set. The dvd player is at the top of TV almost in the center - 4 1/2 in space on right and 7 in space on the left. So it's off-center to the right of the TV, not a side insert as I've seen with other TV/DVD combos. Good remote control with a couple of functions I haven't seen before such as "pause" which immediately freezes any program - when you press pause again, it will start the program wherever it currently is at that moment so you will lose the length of time you "paused." Remote ergonomically easy to hold but because it is long, a little difficult to use one hand to reach all buttons. Also, there's no function for programming favorite channels but there is a button to return to previously watched channel. Must purchase a VGA cable and audio cable before hooking up PC to use this as a computer monitor. Hook up is easy and picture from PC clear. There's a pause when changing channels but it's not too bad. I like this flatscreen a lot and think that the quality is good. 8/25/2010 Update: TV still working great. Small external speakers have been added for fuller sound quality. 1/25/2011 Still enjoying with no problems.

Very good combo TV-Player. Batteries included for the remote, but you will have to get your own cables to hook up to cable TV, PC, or other external devices. No big deal, just be aware. You'll also need a philips screwdriver to attach the stand using the 3 supplied screws. Worked fine with an 8-foot cable I had for cable TV. This is for the kids' room and I had no need to hook up to surround sound or any other external devices. Picture and sound very good on both HDTV and DVD functions. A little slow changing channels but not that bad.

I purchased this TV for my bedroom. It is a nice size and the picture is fine. The volume is certainly sufficient, but the sound quality is terrible. It is very tinny - almost mono (and yes, I did check the mono/stereo setting). I am keeping the TV, but do have it hooked up to an external speaker, which made a HUGE difference. It's very lightweight. Overall I am happy with the purchase, but had I purchased it at a local store I probably would have returned it because of the sound quality.

This is a great TV. Price was right and only 2.99 for next day shipping. Was here on time. Color is beautiful and clear. My grandson
walked in and commented on the clear color picture.

Easy set up. Just added antenna and plugged it in. No problems.

Would recommend this TV to anyone. I have it in my bedroom which is 13 X 17 feet. Just right size.

I was given this tv for a gift. I love the flat screen and the picture is great for a small tv. I love shopping at Amazon as their prices are very good compared to some others around.

We got one but have since returned it for one without a dvd player (same hdtv, sans player). THE REASON is that we didn't want to have to use 2 remote controls, one for Direct TV and one to power on the tv and control the volume. After long conversations with both Direct TV and Sylvania there was no way to get this COMBO TV to work thru the Direct TV remote. Other than that the TV quality is very good and the sound is acceptable - certainly not a device built for high quality CD listening.

We have this TV in our Kitchen. The great thing about it is the DVD feature - So easy to use, and it is located in the back top portion of the TV - Far away from little hands!
The sound quality is great - We have never had to push it to its highest volume... Love the remote too. Easy to use and figure out.

While the sound quality of this TV does leave something to be desired, it is a great value, wonderful product. It's small, easy to set up and the picture quality is the best I've ever known on a tv (but then again, this is my first flat screen HD tv I've ever owned!)

My purchase from Amazon and the bang for our buck is good except the sound. If you are in an area where it is quite, the volume is great. If there is a little noise in the area where you are watching this TV, do not worry about cranking up the volume, it is not going to help. Once you start turning up the volume, it starts to crackle. If you can hear it around the 40 mark, it is not that bad. Anything much above 50, forget it.

The quality of the the picture is phenomenal, great great picture... crystal clear. The DVD works and looks great as well.

Changing channels are slow, probably 1-2 seconds, this really did not bother me much, I have to keep in mind the price I had paid for it ($223.00) not to mention free shipping. It is basically going to be used for our fifth-wheel rainy day camping trips anyway, when the rain will put the fire out.

The remote is kinda cumbersome even with my large hands, it`ll take some getting used to.

If it was`nt for the volume break-up I would give this little thing 6 stars, unfortunately for the manufacture I am only giving it 4 stars. All & all it is a nice unit for the money.

You'll need Cable, Satellite or Digital Antenna for this set!
I just purchased this little set for my second bedroom. Out of the box, everything was straight forward. I do not have a satellite receiver in that room so I just wanted it for local channels and occasional use. Be aware -- with no antenna, cable or satellite -- this television does not pick up local channels. None. I am located approx. 30 miles from the stations, but thought it would at least pick up a few. It doesn't. I went to Radio Shack and purchased a digital antenna for around $39.00 and now every local channel comes in fine. On the screen size -- it measures just about 18.5 inches diagonally -- 16.5 inches across and 9.4 inches vertically. In all, given the fact it's also a DVD player -- it's a nice purchase.
