This timer is as reliable in operation as it is easy to program. With today's sophisticated gadgetry, sometimes it seems that you cannot buy a product that is not accompanied by an 80-page instruction manual. The instructions that come with this little baby can be read through in one minute and implemented in the next.

This works great, with no pins to lose. The extra outlet is a plus. Overall, the best timer I've owned.

I used this all summer to operate my in-window air conditioner. It was very easy to set times, and it does the job very well.

I use this for a daily appliance (BUNN coffee maker) that is turned on for 5 hours each day. It is easy & reliable to use. Great 'On' switch option on the side. Best of my 3 appliance timers.

First of all - no PINS to lose or have fall out!! Can't beat that with a stick. Secondly, moving parts are shielded by cover (no chance to inadvertanty change clock or settings). Thirdly, nice big "on/off" switch (for when you want to turn applicance on manually). Lastly, an extra outlet for items you don't want on timer. Honestly, the best there is!!! Plus cheap!!!

I never write reviews but this one bothered me. I bought this for my fish tank lighting and in less than a week the timer stop turning. Since it's in a dry place that never sees the light of day it makes no sense at all.

I bought this mainly to use with my slow cooker and it works perfectly! It was easy to use and I like that it has the extra outlet. It is a bit large so you'll have to make sure the outlet you use it in has sufficient wall space to handle it. I love using it with my slow cooker and think it will be nice for using with Christmas lights in the future.

After reading the positive reviews, I found my experience frustrating.

I had been using the X-10 system, but was having too many failures and it could not control a few outlets, so I decided to go back to manual. I decided to try the Sylvania due to positive reviews and the pinless concept (over Intermatic timers).

The first timer did not work at all, dial would not progress

The second timer worked for about a week and then stopped keeping time.

Too much hassle to return.

It may just be a bad lot, but I would avoid these.

I bought this unit to auto turn On/Off my outdoor XMAS lights, with the timer connected indoors to the AC outlet in my garage (this unit is NOT meant for outdoor use). Couldn't be simpler to program!

Its time resolution of 15min certainly doesn't come close to digital timers, but this thing is very reliable and easy to use.
