These sounded like they would be a great replacement for our fluorescent under counter lights of similar length but they really aren't; the light provided is not nearly as bright as the fluorescents and the LED light is somewhat blue rather than white.

Also, the LED's seem to be spaced too far apart, there are shadows within the illuminated area.

It's a good deal, but after receiving out of the blue 3 weeks later it was a bit unnerving to see that it was bubble wrapped with one layer that had an address sticker on it, and the light casing was cracked nearly in half. To avoid waiting another 3 weeks I super-glued it together since it didn't affect the lights. I would recommend that they do a little bit better job of packing, and a tracking number would be nice instead of a 3 week+ surprise.

These strips are basically for accent lighting or as a night light, which is what I use them for. Under the cabinets above the counter top, they are just enough light to get that first cup of coffee before the sun is fully up. There are other LED strips available that have a brighter array of LEDs, albeit at about $85 each, for full brightness lighting equal to the same sized fluorescent strip.

I initially checked reviews on this site to see if anyone else has had problems with the tiny on-off switch. While the seller has quickly provided a replacement for the one unit that seems to have developed such a problem, I hope this isn't a design problem...

the only flaw of this product is dim light.
2W is not enough, 5-10W units would be much better.

As pointed out, these are not as bright as the florescent fixtures. But these are among the brightest LED under-cabinet strips, and do not even get a little warm like incandescence do. They are a bit thicker than some other LED strips with external transformers, and are just barely visible under my cabinets.
Overall a excellent product, but would not use them as the only light source for your kitchen.

Yes, Yes...we all know LED's are not as bright as some florescent and especially xenon bulbs. But what I love about my LED strip lights is that the light is cooler and not as bright, they also put out no heat, meaning they use less electricity and I run mine all the time!

I have these LEDs at the three workstations in my kitchen. (They are triggered by Insteon motion sensors, which automatically illuminate each particular work area as needed--and ensures that I won't muck up the switches with doughy or meat juice-covered hands.)

They come with two types of mounting brackets, depending how you need to mount them. I elected to use heavy-duty double-sided tape instead.

The best thing about them is how they can be connected to each other, end-to-end, up to ten units. Or they can be connected to each other using a (supplied) connector, enabling a single plug to power a(n) additional unit(s) around a corner, under adjacenty cabinetry.

It is also available in a totally compatible 9-LED version, which I also have.

Could they be a bit brighter? Certainly. That would be nice. But I find them to be a welcome addition to my kitchen and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

I have installed 8 of these light strips in two closets and have had 3 failures in less than 60 days, completely dead. I don't mind paying a premium for led efficiency but I expect an equivalent increase in life time as well. One replacements that I got from a local store was dead out of the package. Not recommended. I am now trying another brand.

Almost as bright (non-reflector hood). Clips screwed easily into existing mounting holes, light snapped in and I clipped out a slat in vent area to pass cord out of hood. A great fix in under 5 minutes and under $20.00! It actually took longer to take out old guts than it did to put this in. If making custom full hood, I'd add multiple strips and still be way cheaper than standard aquarium lighting.
