I actually purchased this item elsewhere, but I was and am amazed at the recording quality even in 6 hour mode. The only neg is no tuner.

This recorder has done a fantastic job and performed far beyond my expectations. In about two weeks I've transferred nearly 100 cassettes to DVDr and had no problems at all. Very barebones and efficient. No complications with media to date.

I am very satisfied with this product. I gave it to my fiancee for Christmas and he just loves it. He's been making dvd's ever since. We can even make a dvd from the television. I would recommend this product. Definitely worth the money.

This little recorder is very cost effective and performs perfectly. It is very reasonable but hard to find. Be sure the seller you pick actually has it in stock. It took me three tries to get it because I was trying to save another buck or two. Don't price hunt. Find the sure thing. You will be very happy. If you record from TV the screen editor is superior to any recorder I ever used regardless of price. It even allows a preview before committing to the edit.

This is our main media player and recorder and it does its job very well. When recording TV. It records quite well on the long time recording settings.

It works but I can only play back recordings on the DVD player itself. Other DVD players do not recognize anything recorded. Given that I bought this to record things for when I travel, this makes the unit utterly useless to me. Unless you're buying the unit as both a recorder AND as your primary DVD playing device, stay away.

This was just what I wanted, and it had a feature I like but hadn't expected. You can do a 30 jump forward to skip commercials. Nice feature. Very uncomplicated user interface on the remote, unlike some. It was very easy to setup, and the box actually looks very nice.

This is advertised as having pass-through rear input jacks. Not true. The S-video does not pass signal through even though it has both in and out S-video jacks. I wasted an hour trying to figure out the problem plus shipping costs plus time waiting for this unit to arrive. Three calls to technical support was a waste. They knew less about the unit than I did. I'll try another brand.
