As a relatively new quilter, I was looking for a quilt that would challenge me and keep me busy between other projects. Sylvia's Bridal Sampler definitely fits the bill. I've made one square, and the directions were extremely easy to follow. I'm sure this quilt with its 142 squares will challenge me, teach me and entertain me over the coming months. I highly recommend this book.

This book was certainly worth the wait as it is more than beauiful from cover to cover. I just got mine in the mail and could hardly wait to carry it back to my little retreat to enjoy. How I would love to say that I had created and personally made this entire quilt...and all by hand, never-the-less! It is a dream quilt in a book so expertly put together, a quilt I have often wondered what it would look like and how Sylvia would react to the creation made out of love my her quilter friends....after reading the books by Jennifer Chiaverini, and just letting my imagination get carried away with me. Tis so nice to still be able to dream and find dreams do come true...at least in the books created by Jennifer. Sure hope here story telling and quilting days are not over. I hunger for the next book to come off the press, and yes, have devoured the book "The Lost Quilter".

The author visited my hometown and I was able to get this book autographed by her. Jennifer brought the completed quilt to the
book signing, too. It is soooo beautiful and I can't wait to make
my own. The book has complete instructions and will be amoung
my other treasured books by the same author, Jennifer Chiaverini.

This is a very informative book about the bridal sampler and how it came into being and how it was actually made out of a story. Now people can make the quilt themselves in their own colors and designs from all the instuctions in the book. It was a delightful short story to help you with your color choices for the 140 blocks.

I had to have this book to complete my Chavierini collection and I wasn't disappointed. It's beautifully presented and has the most gorgeous blocks in it. I'm just learning to paper piece so some of these pieces will be great challenges.

I love this book! I am an avid reader of the Elm Creek series written by Jennifer Chiaverini and it gave me the chance to see and read about the different quilts referred to in her books. I am in an online group that is making this sampler quilt and have joined it. I'm looking forward to getting started on it in January 2011.

Having read all of the Elm Creek Quilt Books over the last several years, I thought it was about time I made some of the quilts.
I decided to begin with Sylvias Bridal Sampler. I have found it well written and easy to understand. Being a patchwork teacher I would recommend it to students everywhere.

Love the book for the variety of quilt block patterns. The novels are all wonderful stories, as well.

Love, love, love this quilting book! I'm mostly still a beginner quilter and I can follow this book on most patterns.

Fantastic book, looking forward to commencing this quilt when I retire in about 18 months time.
The book is very clear and concise in its instructions.
