I have both the S107 and S107G. After reading about the similarities, I thought I would outline the differences.

The primary difference seems to be a change of software. The S107 had an issue where when turning and moving the throttle far up and down, the helicopter would spin very rapidly. This would cause it to be a bit out of control, but was kind of fun if you learned to work with it. the S107G has fixed this issue. While turning, the turn speed is almost completely unaffected by throttling up/down.

The USB charging cable has been slightly improved in the S107G. With the S107, it would glow dim red while charging, and bright red when done. On the S107G, it is completely off while charging, and glows when done.

Finally, you've got more color choices on the S107G.

I hope this clears up some confusion.

Our 13 year old son has been SYMA helicopter crazy for at least the last four years; new choppers have been delivered each Christmas and birthday (to his continued delight). He has S107Gs in yellow, blue and red, the USCG S111G, the Blackhawk S102G, the Apache S109G, the S108G Cobra, the Chinook S026G and maybe a couple other non-SYMA craft too...

While he totally enjoys them all, he recommends the S107G or S111G for first time pilots who could then graduate to the hyperactive S108G or unique Chinook. When pressed, he admits that the S107G is the one he flies most as it seems to have the best mix of speed, flight control and battery life of them all.

In our humble opinion, these SYMA mini copters are tough. They are made for indoor use and they get crash landed on stairs, against walls, on kitchen tables, against mantles... even run over by a golden retriever... but they keep on going. More often than not, we misplace a USB charging cord or wear out the hand-held remote transmitter controls before the copter ever fails.

From a parent's perspective, the price-to-fun ratio of these helicopters is absolutely FANTASTIC. They are almost as much fun to watch as they are to fly. Keep 'em coming; we look forward to new models.

Bottom line -- we frequently recommend SYMA helicopters to others and they are our typical birthday party gift (even for a few fun-natured adults!) Get one, get hooked, and then keep your fleet well maintained! Have fun!

Im 10 years old and i just bought the Syma 2012 Newest Design - Syma S107G 3 Channel RC Radio Remote Control Helicopter with Gyro - Green Color and i love it!

I was flying outside and crashed it into a tree. I thought i was done for. But nothing was broken accept for 1 wing and the pack came with 8 replacement wings!

Here are some reviews from our guests

This is a great indoor helicopter. Very stable and easy to fly. If you're looking for a helicopter that is fun and relaxing, this would be an excellent choice. Would be nice if the battery charge lasted a little longer, but in the need to keep the weight down, this is fully acceptable.

I have to say that finally there is a helicopter out there that I can actually fly. I have had others in the past, but none like this one. So far even after a few crashes, nothing broken, still flies.

this S107G was a weird mixture of excitement, happiness, and disappointment. It arrived 3 days after purchase, so i took it out, put batteries in the controller, and charged up the Heli using the controller, and waited for about an hour for it to charge. While that was going on, I was reading the manual. There is this part in the book that said "before turning on the helicopter, push the steering into full forward, then continue normal operation." i did not do this, and that might be why mine was slow in the beginning. I fixed that problem, but that's for later.

I started to fly this thing, and I noticed that it was very quiet for a heli. its not that annoying screeching sound my Gyropter makes, but a light hum that gets louder the higher you go. Also, you cant turn of the lights on the front. That's not a problem, but i prefer to turn off the lights so i don't burn out the bulbs.

Let me tell you about this syma micro heli. I think i am more than qualified to give a objective review. I own 7 different 3 channel micro coaxial heli's, plus another 8 helis's of all kinds. I have been flying rc helis since the mid 70's. Back then the helis didn't even fly and there wasn't anything called a gyro. Some people consider me to be a expert rc heli pilot. I consider my self just to be a good 3d heli pilot. I can't find any difference between a s107 and a s107G except some of the colors. I bought 2 extra syma s107G's just for parts. Maybe some day i will need the parts. I have wore out tons of batteries but my 107's are still flying. I have crashed them into the ceiling, walls, the fan, the stove and my dog grabed it right out of the air. These are the most durable micros i have. I have one 107 with all the modifications you can intall on it. For relaxed flying i just perfer the stock version except for one change. I install the 240ma battery you can buy here on amazon. I get 2 more minutes flying time out of this battery. Also it makes the heli nose heavy. When you let go of the stick the heli always starts foward. This helps if you get des-orinatated. Yes this even happens to the best heli pilots. In a hover i just hold a little back stick. This is a habit i have from flying the nitro burning helis. With this battery when you lift the heli up by the flybar the rear of the skids lift a 1/4 inch off the surface before the front part of the skids do. This is perfect for me. Here is a example. If you lose orintation of the heli and it is backing up when you let go of the sticks the heli will stop and start slowly forward and give you a chance to reorintate with the heli. If the heli is laying on it side on the floor i just give it throttle and the heli uprights itself, really neat.Read more ›
