5.0 out of 5 stars This band is from Seattle?, September 19, 1999

I heard the song "Indefinite & Unspecified" at a club and had to have the album the next day. I didn't know that industrial music could have such beautiful melodies. I also didn't believe a band of this magnitutde would be from the USA, seeing as most American bands are still hung up on badly out of tune guitars (Europe seems to have the market on this kind of music).

This album is a must buy - why these guys havn't hit superstardom is beyond me. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars It's about Time!!!, July 28, 1999

This is what industrial music has needed for quite some time. Harsh music with beautiful melodies and well thought out lyrics. In the vein of Project Pitchfork but keeping a distinct sound. Very Recommened!!

BTW - Their live show is one of the more exciting things I've seen in quite a while - and I'm normally a very cynical cat!

Very cool stuff!!! Reminds me of the 80's style of industrial......like Front 242 and even New Order, but with harsher vocals.......

Hard, pounding and fiercely aggressive music is what Noxious Emotion does best! Growled vocals over mesmerising beats - I sure got my money's worth out of this one...I anxoiusly await a new CD from this incredible band!

Pi - opens really bassy and constantly adds new sounds. Good song although I'm not sure what its supposed to be about.

Phi - Instrumental very leery.

The Unknown - after a long dual beat intro the song gets pretty intense. The music is at its pinnacle when Mike Wimer yells followed by an intense beat. This songs about sex by the way.

Inertia - Cool lyrics and mechanical moans mixed with a chorus that sounds like its sung by robots. Has an erie feel.

Luminous Flux - Woman getting all emotional talking about "making the pain go away"

Unit - coolest beat on the album. The songs about earthly conservation.

Entropy - Sounds like Project Pitchfork. "Lack of Therapy" and "intoxicate on a regular basis" are two of my favorite lines.

The Sum Of... - Very anti-religious. Spoken in a detestful manner. An opinion expressed thoughtfully, even if you don't agree.

Mass - Song about the icecaps melting. Has a toy keyboard sound to it, and some audio of people getting [...] off. A really cool beat occurs at the 5 minute mark.

Surface Tension - an instrumental that has a stressful feel to it.

Time - a song about agressive human nature. Has a twilight zone beat to it.

Integral - A song about getting messed up. LSD I presume.

Indefinite & Unspecified - Probably the lightest song on the album yet it holds alot of meaning. Has some good yelling parts.

5.0 out of 5 stars A band on the verge of eclipsing the sun, April 26, 2003

Take all your CD's and burn them for in one single dynamic stroke Noxious Emotion has rewritten the history book of music. It's as if they have been possessed by the spirits of John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin and Bob Hope. Through their sensitive hands they weave masterpeace after masterpiece that instantly have a timeless quality to them whilst still retaining their edgy contemporary/street roots. This is a mark of a true creative genius at work. Sit back and feel their greatness, it will be the most awesome ride of your life. Are Noxious Emotion the progeny of God?, maybe. Have they changed the course of modern culture? Definitely. 'Hot Symbols' is the greatest CD ever recorded. FACT

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, April 30, 2000

I first heard this album after it was given to me by a member of the band, Darin (I believe he is listed as "Fritter" on the sleeve) one night when some friends and I went out. We stopped at his house to pick him up and he handed me a copy. I had heard of his band, but never really listened to it before this. The next day I popped the cd into the player and was overwhelmed...this music is too good to be local! *Excellent* hardcore EBM tendencies with a NW flavor. The tracks that stick out the most for me are #2 and #6. I have since recommended to many of my friends. And "Fritter" is a very, very down to earth cool person...no ego trip there, as I noticed after spending a night out with him he treats his fans like friends. I would definitely recommend this album to any EBM fan out there...you will not be disappointed.
