5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome rendition to Bossa Nova Jewels !!!!!!!, February 8, 2002
This review is from: Symphonic Bossa Nova (Audio CD)
If I could give this album more than 5 stars I probably would give it ten; it is that good; Ettore has always been a World-Class conductor and this time he is joined by a superb pianist and arranger Jorge Calandrelli; the result= A superb, perfectly executed and flawless album, the Orchestration is right on the money and never overwhelming. And in case this wouldn't be enough, just add to it the collaboration of Dori Caymmi, Al Jerrau, Hubert Laws, and you have another perfect album. The highlights of this album, the rendition to two of the best Songwriter duets from Brazil; 1) to Tom Jobim/Vinicius de Moraes' One Note Samba\The Girl from Ipanema & 2) to Ivan Lins/Vitor Martins' Comecar de Novo\Daquilo que Eu Sei.
If you're into Bossa Nova this is a must-have and a collectible; If you're not, this will be the perfect start to one of the best musical styles in the world: Bossa Nova\Brazilian Jazz. Purchase it at once, you'll be glad you did.
