5.0 out of 5 stars Great Listening
The Kingston Symphony Orchestra (Kingston, Ontario) may not be the NY Philharmonic, but they do a very creditable job of providing wonderful music for easy listening. I was particularly delighted to find orchestral arrangements of these wonderful tunes. 3.0 out of 5 stars Somewhat sub-standard production quality, but excellent tunes and arrangements
The Kingston Symphony Orchestra might not be the very best ensemble in the world (and it shows on this recording), but the lasting power and beauty of the songs on this album and some of the new and lovely arrangements of them are worth the listen. There are some definite technical and musical flaws as far as the recording and ensemble go, but the music and how it's arranged makes up for it.

Three stars for some soaring moments, due to classic tunes and arrangements.

My main beef: Where's The Little Mermaid?? Why discount one of the most beautiful Disney scores ever written?

I was looking for a CD of popular Disney music to inspire my daughter with what she could do with her violin skills. I purchased this CD and "Animated Classics Performed by the 101 Strings Orchestra" (also Disney music). I was prepared for a full orchestra with this CD and there were no surprises (like vocals) or disappointments (like missing instrument features). Here is the list of songs, "The Circle of Life", "I Just Can't Wait to be King", "Can You Feel the Love Tonight?", "Whistle While You Work", "I'm Wishing", "With A Smile and A Song", "Someday My Prince Will Come", "One Song". "Heigh-Ho", "Arabian Nights", "Prince Ali", "A Whole New World", "One Jump Ahead", "Belle", "Beauty and the Beast", "Be Our Guest", "Give A Little Whistle", "When You Wish Upon A Star", "I've Got No Strings", "Turn On The Old Music Box", "Hi Diddle-dee-dee", "When You Wish Upon A Star" (reprise). The CD runs 53:09 minutes. If you are looking for orchestral Disney music and you like the selection of songs, you will very much enjoy this fun, upbeat classically played CD. I really do enjoy it. When compared to the other titled CD I purchased, the other one is shorter, has some vocals and has a different variety of songs (this one playing selections from 5 movies, the other with titles from 11 movies), it is very similar musically though.

It's hard to find Disney music played, recorded and sold by an orchestra, probably because Disney makes it so hard to do so, but anyhow - I think it's a perfect album for any Disney fan who LOVES Disney music. I agree with the other reviewer and I do wish Little Mermaid was on here. I'm going to play most of these songs during my wedding cocktail hour.

What a scam! Terrible arrangements played by a third rate ensemble, called the Kingston Symphony Orchestra, that sounds more like a bad high school orchestra playing in a gym. Don't waste your money on this dog.
