as for me this is a flawless disc, November 24, 2005

As for me this is a flawless disc. The sound is good, although the beginning is somewhat dark (too dark?). The ambiance comes right. Perhaps along with 2 (Barshai on WDR) and 13 (Kondrashin on Melodiya) this the best recording of the composer. The cover features the enrtance of Mariiyinsky right? I have been there, though i happen to live in the Netherlands. It is impressive, this recording too.
