5.0 out of 5 stars I want a G string!!!
I want to be on that tour!!! Symphony X offers a good time for all, especially the narrator. Makes me wonder how much of this is based on a true story! I happen to know that the author is a member of the band for Neil Diamond. I won't say more but if their "off" hours are anything like Katie's are in Symphony X, let me be a fly on the wall or a groupee!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Not Hot, Not Erotic
Symphony X left me cold. The book is not hot, nor is it erotic. It was as though I was reading some text for a class on how to not sexually stimulate someone. Understand, the book has a lot of sex scenes --and the writer does try to give it to you graphically. But I never felt the pull. I never got inot the main character. I never cared about anything that happened...

5.0 out of 5 stars Really read it, October 29, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony X (Black Lace) (Paperback)
I've sort of read this book twice. The first time through, I skipped around to the juicy scenes (sex clubs, musical chairs involving copulation, truth or dare - involving...guess!). But then, I found myself laughing so much at surrounding scenes that I decided to go back and read the whole book. All I can say is, you will too. I also read Ms. Stone's other book but this one is much better. It's nice to know that some authors can improve. Highly recommended.

Understand, the book has a lot of sex scenes --and the writer does try to give it to you graphically. But I never felt the pull. I never got inot the main character. I never cared about anything that happened. The tale of self-discovery left me wondering why anyone would want to know this woman or her friends and companions. Save me from bad erotica....
There's enough bad sex in the world....don't import it in your home if you don't have to!

5.0 out of 5 stars violists of the world: unite!, December 20, 2004
This review is from: Symphony X (Black Lace) (Paperback)
This book is funny, funny strange and funny ha ha. That's why I liked it. I could do without the vocabulary lessons - you'll see what I mean. However I thought the sex was very exciting, especially the scene in the sex club with the partition. The musical parts of the books have made it a cult classic in the symphonic world. I know. At the NY Phil is where I thumbed through a very well used copy. I decided to buy my own. It's one unique musical ride on the theme of love.

5.0 out of 5 stars More than ... with horns (and strings), August 14, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Symphony X (Black Lace) (Paperback)
This book is erotic fiction for women and I'm a male, so I'm outside the target demographic. But I found it to be a great read, ... . Okay, maybe the acts described are from a different page in the menu, but it's all coming out of the same kitchen, so what's the problem?
Besides, the stuff between the naughty bits is far more entertaining than in the usual book of this sort. The descriptions of orchestra politics, bowing etiquette, travel realities and such ring very true.

5.0 out of 5 stars Violist as Main Character (!?), June 30, 2005
This review is from: Symphony X (Cheek) (Paperback)
The viola in a classical orchestra is usually the butt of jokes. Here, Katie the violist, is funny but the butt of jokes she is not. This book scorches! There's the mystery of the switched journals, the sex games Katie pursues, and...can you believe it? Love! Plus an insider's view of the orchestra pit. As a violist myself, I want to say: BRAVO Ms. Stone. I'm no Katie but I wish I were - minus the cheating husband part.

5.0 out of 5 stars Prog metal at its finest!, July 7, 2003
This review is from: Symphony X (Black Lace) (Paperback)
Woah! This is Symphony X's best work yet! Michael Romeo's guitar playing is phenomenal. Sweep arppeggios galore. Russel's voice, as always, is top notch. Black Lace is the best Symphony X album yet!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Unreadable, September 18, 2003
This review is from: Symphony X (Black Lace) (Paperback)
This is supposed to be a jokey diary and starts with the ending of the book, a happily ever after ending more sickly sweet than any Mills and Boon/harlequin romance.
How she ever gets to the hornily ever after, and ditches her horrible husband is what we have to wait to find out.
Except that the heroine has all the personality of a bowl of bean dip, and her men are so stereotyped as to be cardboard with only a few moving body parts.
The whole men are terrible aspect has been done to death and it is not interesting to see what a victim she makes of herself, let alone sexy. Easily the worst Black lace book I have ever read.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the band, November 14, 2010
This review is from: Symphony X (Cheek) (Paperback)
The band is much better than the book. Check out the songs, "of sins and shadows", "Inferno(Unleash the fire)", and you cant go wrong with any song of the Paradise Lost album. Yep, far superior to this book.
