Wonderful listening form Grammy winning conductor,

The Grammy winning conductor, Donald Runnicles leads the San Francisco Opera Orchestra in this delightful compilation of opera interludes. Although not usually my choice for opera music, I was attracted to the West Side Story suite. Masterfully conducted, with fierce melodies and wonderful instrumentation.

some flaws in this music but not much. In the pera`s as performed here there is hardly sung. One wonders why an opera orchestra is needed. Nevertheless the full score is not presented here, and what is presented here is okay. Sound quality is pretty good The pieces are, apart from the Bernstein-cycle, pretty hard to get so it is an offer you cannot refuse
