First off, I'm going to be perfectly honest and tell you that if you don't like classical music (Mozart, Beethoven, Pachelbel, etc.), you will hate this CD. (Please note that I use the word "classical" generically. I really am referring to classical, baroque, romantic, and so-called "modern classical" music, ie Copeland.)

In this series of CDs, each piece will begin with a particular piece of classical music. Then, it will transition into a hymn. Then, the themes from the hymn and the classical piece will be played in concert. Usually, this is done very well. In "Majesty", "All Hail the Power", and "Seek Ye First", it's almost brilliant. In "This is the Day", the transition is a stretch and the piece leaves a lot to be desired.

The orchestration is quite well done. Don Marsh has done quite a number of other very popular Christian CDs. His orchestra is top notch.

As of my writing, Amazon carries the first Symphony of Praise and the first Hymnworks. I HIGHLY recommend all five CDs to any Christian who likes classical music. These are very moving pieces and have become my favorite in my collection.

Linda Mckechnie has developed an album that speaks to the depths of the listener's soul. My favorite titles are "As The Deer" and "This Is The Day". Brilliant arrangements. Great motivational music.

I just opened this CD and its blending of classical and contemporary Christian music is astounding! It absolutely overwhelmed me. Check it out!

Linda McKechnie's artistry is truly inspiring, so much so that I went to great lenghts, having found 'Worship in the Key of Life', to add more of her work to my collection. At last I found it via internet. What a disappointment when almost all the tracks on 'Symphony of Praise' Vol I & II were to be found also on the 'Worship' cd. Had this been made clear in the ads or on the 'Symphony' cd's I would not have bought these duplications.

Linda's work and that of the orchestra remains entranching and stunning.
