Good image quality, good features,
By
This review is from: Synaps 15" Portrait Style Digital Photo Frame (Electronics)
Images:Maximum resolution is 1024x768. Image quality is quite good at this resolution - about the same as I would expect from a good computer monitor. Color and brightness levels seem to be acceptable as well. Overall, I'm very pleased with the images. Setup: I saved several hundred photos on the 256MB internal memory, downloading directly from my computer. I haven't tried a compact flash card yet, but the menus seem to allow the user to select either internal memory or card. (I also haven't tried the vidoe or audio features either, although the frame does have speakers.) Menus are easy to navigate. The frame scrolls through each photo at a user-selectable speed and with optional fade-in animations. Overall, easy to setup and modify settings. Extras: Came with a USB cable and remote control. There are also control buttons on the back, so the remote is convenient but not absolutely necessary. The frame has both a foldout stand for tabletop use and mounting slots for hanging on a wall. (The frame is fairly thick, so it would not be flush-mounted.) Conclusion: Excellent image quality. Build quality also seems quite good - frame is a very solid-feeling black plastic. This is by far the cheapest 15" frame I've found, and I can't think of anything I would've been willing to pay more for. The only additional feature I might like is the ability to separate photos into selectable folders (like mp3 "playlists).
