5.0 out of 5 stars Fun with Rage, August 30, 2007

This review is from: Syncope (US version) (Audio CD)
Excellent album through and through. The beats are huge and hard, the songs have momentum, and, most importantly, melodies. I love the works of the bands that seem to have come up in the wake of Suicide Commando (hellectro or noise terror or whatever you want to call it), but Tactical Sekt are definitely a stand out. The album actually works as an album, and the songs are memorable, with smart uses of trance elements mixed in. Harsh distorted vocals like these can sometimes be a weakness in that one band can blur into the next (careful listening shows otherwise, but I think people understand what I mean), but Tactical Sekt adds enough melody line and enough of the voice to come through to make a difference. Add to that intelligent sampling (and a welcome sense of humor in one particular instance) and lyrics that are actually worth figuring out (though sometimes impossible--lyrics would be welcome) and you have a winner. This album starts wonderfully furiously and never lets up from there. No filler and not a track that one doesn't want to dance through. And if you can get the double disc version, you get 8 songs that are almost up to the album's level in their own right. How many times is the bonus disc that good? A high mark for this realm.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pinnacle of the genre, September 18, 2009
This review is from: Syncope (US version) (Audio CD)
This album is only the latest masterpiece from one of the absolute masters of the hard electronics genre. The best albums in the genre go far beyond dance floor music, and are truly dense and meaningful works that can be appreciated on multiple levels. This is one of the best of the best. Dark beauty, terror, politics, and raw seething emotions swirl together with incredible beats and melodies to form a beastly pit of fear and loathing. This cd will take you to a new low of rage and pain. And make you want to dance.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hooked-Up, May 12, 2010

This is an industrial styled musical compact disk which is flawlessly and effectively produced in a miminimal style. The kick drum is front and center and the keyboards are nicely layered without being too dominate. The layered vocals are of a sinister nature and most tracks contain lyrical hooks which are catchy and memorable. A major componet to a 'pop' song are lyrical hooks but Tacktical Sect has effectively incorpororated this element into many of the twelve tracks. I recommend this compact disk.
