The first time I ordered these batteries, from the same seller, link, etc, I received my order promptly and it was what I expected. I charged them up put them in there new home, a
Aputure Amaran AL-528W, and let them burn. I wanted to see how long the charge would last. To my surprise, damn near 4 hours. These were great. Not only was I pleased with the batteries but, the Aputure Amaran AL-528 as well. This was a great combination. So I ordered up another setup, just like before. A pair of Synergy Digital batteries and a Aputure Amaran AL-528w.

But here is the rub. Instead of Synergy Digital batteries, I received Halcyon brand instead. Different packaging, different batteries. How different? First, they are are rated at 7200 mah. I can deal with that. The Synergy's where rated at 6900 mah. They should theoretically last longer. However, they weight less than half the weight of the synergy's. BIG RED FLAG!! Now I was willing to give these a chance. But, i had my doubts...and I was right. They lasted 50 mins.

Now I don't know if there was a mix up or if the seller thought these were a replacement, NOT! Different band altogether. What I bought and what i received were two different things. If you decided to go this route, make sure you get what you paid for. Not the P.O.S.'s I received.

I bought these hi capacity batteries along with shorter life batteries. When they arrived they weighed the same amount as the 2800mAh batteries. I was reluctant, but gave them a try. Maybe it could be better technology, you know save the planet. Yeah right, my 6600mAh lasted TEN times longer than these 6900mAh. Don't buy these batteries, they are not high capacity. Small capacity battery in a high capacity casing.

This is blatantly deceptive. Unless there have been some advances in our understanding of physics and batteries, there is no way the product I received is close to being its rated capacity. Most of it is hollow and feels just barely heavier than my 1600 mah camera battery.

Good product worth the money, last way longer than I thought. I have the little battery which doesn't last long at all. This is what i needed.

I had to return this battery. I was going to use it with a Sony camera light that takes the NP-F970 batteries - but with this battery, the light's status LEDs just blinked a bit and the light never powered-on. (yes, the battery was charged) Most of the blame for this is on Sony - if the light doesn't read the correct data from the battery, it won't run. Sony will likely say they are "protecting" you from inferior batteries, but they're really just trying to lock you in to using only genuine Sony overpriced batteries. However, if Synergy Digital says they are a replacement for NP-F970 batteries, they need to make sure they really look like NP-F970's to whatever they're plugged into.

Please be aware that this battery is a fraud. The big plastic housing hides a small size battery. If you press the housing on the opposite side of the contacts, it gives in revealing that it is empty. Also, if you balance it, it tips over on the side that has more weight. It weighs 7.6 ounces which tells that there's no way the battery has 7200mAh. Attached is a photo with it on the scale.

This battery last for a long, long time. I can videotape for close to 13 hours without having to recharge the battery. The key is to let the battery run out the first time and then fully charge it without turning on the appliance or electronic. This is a good rule to follow for any new battery.
