I found a recipe online for homemade bug repellent and decided to purchase this essential oil mixture to use in it. It smells really good and although I wasn't happy with the cost it works really well and has paid for itself already. I used a 12oz. spray bottle, filled it 1/2 full with witch hazel, added 40 drops of Bug Off Synergy Essential Oil Blend, and filled it the rest of the way with distilled water.

Bug Off Synergy really works here in southeastern Oklahoma where we have lots of mosquitoes and other pesky biters this time of year. It certainly works on me. It even keeps the flies away which are outside and bothersome most of the morning and afternoon. I just put a couple of drops in the palms of my hand, rub them together and lightly brush them over my hair, clothing, arms and legs. I've tried it other ways and find my method most effective for me.
I was pleased with the quick delivery from this merchant.

This essential oil mixture works really well in my homemade bug spray. I mixed about 20 or so drops of it into my bottle of 2 parts witch hazel, 1 part vodka, and 1 part water with a dash of olive oil. You have to really shake it well each time since the essential oils tend to go straight to the top of the spray bottle. My little ones have been bug bite free with it minus the deet. Makes me just feel more at ease about spraying them. My middle child has a bad mosquito bite reaction so I am thankful for my bug off synergy! The only (mild) complaint is the overwhellming citronella smell. I wish the lavender or lemongrass were stronger.
