OK, OK ... 5 is high for this "niche" album from the Christian Rock canon, but remember this was only the second Christian Rock album ever released. (See my "review" of the "Glass Harp" album.) I bought this record when it came out on vinyl in '72 because I liked their first album so much. I was in college, and used to pull it out during "battle of the bands" record playing sessions. Somebody would play something by the Who or Spirit or (Peter Green era) Fleetwood Mac, and I'd put on "One Day at a Time" and "blow their doors off." On a more serious note, "The Answer" is a very sing-a-long-able number. If you are a Glass Harp devotee, you can only be grateful to find this and other Glass Harp records are available in CD format. Thanks again to Phil, John and Daniel for recording these songs. (Never IS a long time!)

I have been listening to this album for 27 years now, and it is as fresh and exciting as it was on day one! It is truely amazing what Daniel Pecchio, John Sferra and Phil Keaggy can do when they write and play their music! This and the other three GLASS HARP albums are my choices if I could only have four albums on a desert island! All four are masterpieces!!

There were quite a few bands that came out of the late sixties early seventies from Ohio. And Glass Harp was one of the better ones. They were right on par with the James Gang for energy and creativeness. Phill Keaggy is a one and only in his field. And the drums and bass playing by John Sferra and Danny Pecchio is tight and free at the same time. I'm blessed by the release of their out of print albums on CD. Now the world can enjoy the work and wisdom known as Glass Harp! Scott Rigg

Let's hear it for Phil and the boys!,

I saw the Glass harp live in 1972, not knowing who they were. I left that night more than amazed at how one guitarist playing thru what looked like a Fender Twin Reverb could sound like three! Never Is A Long Time was the opening tune, which was followed by a 90 minute array of guitar driven music variety, featuring a solo by Phil showing his ability at classical rivaling Segovia, not to mention a percussive interlude by John Sferra.
I was lucky enough to find a used copy of Synergy several years later, but better late than expensive! Certainly not monotonous, this lp demonstrates the Harp's ability to pursue any and all mode of expression that a trio can produce. Their christian belief is elegantly expressed in The Answer, Song of Hope and Let's Live Together, years before the explosion of christian rock I might add. To this day GH is recognized as pioneers in the ccm industry. My only criticism is that the as good as this early 'prog' lp is, is is too short timewise. Thank God they are still together today. Check them out at glassharp.net.

Excellant in most places, some weak parts,

This best of is much better than the well made individual albums. Somewhat dated, but good. Similar to Yes and Hendrix from the same time period.
