I love this band and find myself going back to them often for energy and intellectual stimulation. I am suffering Epoxies withdrawal symptoms because I missed their last Portland, OR gig. They are based here but on tour most of the time. They must be among the hardest working bands in America today.

This is their initial LP which has just been re-released. If you have the other 2 CDs then you must have this reissue because of the songs Beat My Guest and Clones. Both songs are new wavy, have dramatic internal dynamics, time signatures, and music vocal blending that are somewhat unique in the Epoxies work.

The band finished a great European tour and now are on another US tour. On June 8 they will be in New York at CBGB's. For those not familiar with the band here is what you get:

1. A truly unique sound combination with influences from the Ramones, Devo, and the Rezillos -- all profoundly influential bands.

2. Music that is fast, potent, high energy, and has a great beat.

3. Punk/new wave combination of synthesizers, punk guitars, dramatic drumming, and articulate vocals.

4. The best female front person in rock -- equal to Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. The only comparison I have is Joe Strummer's positive energy and passion for the music of the Clash.

5. Dramatic and stimulating performances - live shows are galvanizing events -- this is music to launch all systems.

6. Intellectual stimulation -- songs are thoughtful and challenging ranging from Clones to Bathroom Stall sexcapdes. Most songs are about the dangers of modern technology and alienation from futurist utopian schemes.

If you are sick and tired of the low energy formulaic pop shoe gazing "I can't believe my girl friend left me music" Show up! Wake up! Get off your butts! Have some fun with the Epoxies!
