NOT YOUR GENERIC HARD ROCK ALBUM,
By The Wedge "wedgeworld" (Santa Barbara, ca United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Syrym (Audio CD)
On my first listen to Syrym I was amazed by how many different influences I heard in the music. Of course the band may not be influenced by the bands I heard but similarities are certainly there. This is good solid hard rock with what appears to be a basis in classic rock of the 80's and some 70's. At the same time the album is very modern. The guitar work reminds me of several bands. Richie Blackmore's Rainbow, Def Leppard, Montrose, Bad Company, Van Halen and even Santana (The Sky is Falling reminds me of the Santana Album Inner Secrets). The vocals are strong and powerful. Several great vocalists come to mind when listening to this cd. Sammy Hagar, Graham Bonnet (Rainbow), Joe Lynn Turner (also Rainbow), David Coverdale, Davey Pattison (Gamma, Robin Trower), Johnny Edwards (Montrose-Mean) and David Lee Roth all come to mind.
With all of that said Syryn has a sound of its own. I have found songs like TORN IN TWO, THE SKY IS FALLING and WHILE AMERICA SLEEPS stay in my head and are some of my favorites on this album. So if you like classic rock but are also looking for something new to listen to then give this one a try. Definitely worth a listen!!

Amazing CD!,
This review is from: Syrym (MP3 Download)
I have been very excited about the release of Syrym's debut CD for quite some time. Prior the release, I had been listening to the samples from the band's web site. I have to say that it has been well worth the wait. The full length disc far exceeded my already high expectations. The songs are very strong, the musicianship is top notch and the production is great. I haven't stopped listening to it since I got it. I highly recommend Syrym!
