After I moved I started getting really dry eyes, I tried a bunch of different generic eye drops, and some Bausch and Lomb ones, but they didn't work too well. I then went to a eye doctor and he recommended these. These drops work so well, they make my eyes feel better right away. They are a lot like my own tears.
Very good product, only con is that it is so expensive.

I had lasik surgery done about 2 years ago. I am one of the few that has to use eye drops now about 4-5 times daily. Kind of sucks but now I have 20-15 vision. Small trade-off. I have tried several eye drops but this is the one that consistently lubricates the eyes, keeps them from getting too tired and does not burn when I put them in. I have tried the Rhoto product and this one is hands down better. Wish they would add this to subscribe and save but the price is still hands down better than most other places (through Amazon).

After several weeks of having an annoying itchy eye and finally seeing that it was a bit redder than the other one I finally went to see my eye doctor. Diagnosis? Dry Eye.

He gave me a laundry list of eye drops and told me to use whichever one I chose several times a day. I started at the top of the list and used the drops for over a week but still no change.

Unfortunately, Systane was in the middle of the list because that is the brand of drops that did the trick. In just a few days the itchiness stopped and the redness disappeared. Now, I use the drops regularly as I put in a lot of computer time.

Would definitely recommend Systane drops.

My eyes will periodically get so dry that I start to get blurred vision. I have tried Clear Eyes and Visine brands of eye drops but the relief I get from these last merely for a few minutes. The Systane Lubricant Eye Drops, however, is different - it effectively helps to keep my eyes lubricated and gives me continued relief from dry eyes for hours.

- Use
I instill 1-3 drops in each eye. In the beginning, the eye drops gave my eyes a strange sensation - my eyes had almost a "slippery" feel to them whenever I blinked. In fact, if you rub some between your fingers, the solution does have a somewhat slippery/greasy feel and a slightly viscous consistency (like that of ointment) to it. Once I got used to the sensation, however, I didn't think very much of it.

- Effectiveness
These eye drops really work as advertised - they are very effective in relieving dry eyes. The relief I get typically lasts for a few hours, at which point I have to reinstill the eye drops to get continued relief.

The relief I get from these eye drops is also immediate! Oftentimes, I don't realize how dry my eyes are until I use them - the difference they make is remarkable and immediately apparent.

- Tidbit
Some people like to refrigerate (not freeze, mind you) their eye drops. Cold eye drop help you to feel the drops as they hit the eye so you can ascertain how well they've landed on their mark. It's harder to tell if a drop instilled at room temperature has it's hit its mark or if it's landed off close to the side of the eye.

---
In sum, the Systane Lubricant Eye Drops will provide hours of effective relief for dry or irritated eyes. Try them - they work and you might just wonder how you've ever managed to do without them!

I've tried all the Refresh products and the Systane Ultra and all worked fine...but the lubricant drops, even though they have the same active ingredients, at the same concentrations, as the Ultra, cause my eyes to blur for 30 minutes. That was what I was trying to get rid of with my dry eyes. Now I have two big bottles of eye drops that make things worse...you might want to try a smaller bottle before you try and save money like I did by buying the larger sizes.

UPDATE: the drops didn't work for my eyes, for whatever reason-but the customer service/medical surveillance people for Systane are excellent: I sent an e-mail describing what happened with the drops and they sent me a return e-mail stating I would receive a full refund, which I did. You can't beat that for competence and professionalism.

I have dry eye, and my eye doctor recommended this as an alternative to prescription eye drops. I am not impressed. The relief that I got was very good, but very brief. I find that the cheap store brand eye drops last just as long for me, and at half the price.

I have really dry eyes and allergies, so wearing my contacts can be a misery. My eye doctor recommended these for at bedtime to see if it would help the dry eye. It did but still experienced discomfort after a few hours with my lenses in. I cautiously tried using these with my lenses in -- and miraculous, it makes it feel as though I'm not even wearing them for several hours after a few drops go in. I wish this product wasn't so expensive but I think it's worth it.

I have dry eyes that require me to put drops in several times a day. At its worse my eyes were so dry that I had trouble opening my eyelids in the morning, they were stuck to my eyes. I have tried a large number of eye drops, which helped me with various degrees.

Systane lubricant drops irritate my eyes, my eyes feel hot and itchy and the eyes need frequent lubrication (i.e. much more frequent than other drops). I don't understand why this happens, I don't have any allergies. I have tried this lubricant several times, because my doctor likes it and offers me free samples at every visit.

I have tried a large number of eye drops looking for the best price/performance. Below is the list of the ones I have tried, I hope this might be of some use to someone who reads this.

My favorite eye drop is Refresh Tears Lubricant Eye drops, 1.08 oz bottle. It does not irritate my eyes, it provides a long lasting effect, it does not blur my vision when it is applied. It works equally well during the day and night.

Refresh Tears Drops for Sensitive eyes single use vials work very well. They have no preservatives and are better for sensitive eyes, however they are more expensive the Refresh Tears in a bottle. Each vial has 4 drops. So I feel I am wasting the money if I use it just once. It is possible to re-close the vial for a second use the same day, but only if you can place the container somewhere it will not be disturbed, since the closure is pretty loose. I use these when my eyes are particular sensitive.

Refresh Liquigel blurs my vision, and when I wake up my eyes a covered with crusty residue of the gell. I don't like it.
