Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

System 7 was the first real change in the way in which the Macintosh operated since its birth in 1984. As such, this new operating system caused no end of anxiety for Mac users, thanks to the memory demands of the software. Before System 7, Macs could work along with one megabyte of memory; after System 7, the machines realistically required four megabytes. The original edition of this book, which appeared just as the new operating system hit the shelves, worked well as a cure to operating system anxiety. This new edition follows the same format as the old one but adds details on system 7.1. The book is attractively formatted, easy to read, and full of useful tips, simple and functional directions, and advice with legible illustrations. If you use a Macintosh with System 7 and you're interested in taking advantage of all its features, this book is a great place to start.
