Good for hands-on learning,
By Burketown Books "Reading = Knowledge" (Burke, Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unix System V Release 4 Administration (Hayden Books UNIX system library) (Paperback)
Unix system V, Release 4 Administration offers is definately for the beginning UNIX programmer, offering descriptions as simple as "What is an operating system", "hung processes", and "daemons". However, the book also offers description on many commands, with examples. Readability is easy. With today's kids learning computers while still in diapers, these factors add up to a good book for a budding young computer expert.

A disappointing book,

This review is from: Unix System V Release 4 Administration (Hayden Books UNIX system library) (Paperback)
I bought this book and also a general purpose Unix administration book ("Essential System Administration : Help for Unix System Administrators (Nutshell Handbook)" by AEleen Frisch). Nine time out of ten the solution was in the excellent general purpose book and not in this System V book which turned out to be really disappointing. Buy a different book.
