Book Description

August 1, 2004
This third volume of Systematic Theology begins with an examination of human beings and their fall away from God. A study of the origin, nature, and effects of sin is followed by a detailed proclamation and exploration of its defeat: God's wondrous provision of salvation through the work of Christ Jesus. Included is an in-depth analysis of all applicable theories and doctrines, such as the extent of the Atonement, the nature of grace, and the assurance of heaven.

5.0 out of 5 stars Just Finished this morning.......Great book, July 8, 2005

I was on the bus ride this morning and had just finished the third book of 4 in his systematic theology series. In this one, Dr. Geisler goes into the issue of SIN and Salvation. He deals with the nature of the unborn, orinial Sin, atonement, and things like Conditions for faith and the Content of faith. One thing that STICKS out in this text is...his view of free will is pushed to the fore front. If you want something about the issue of free will as well, here it is. This is great book to have for it covers so much. While you may or may not agree with everthing in it, it's great to have in your library. Can't wait for the 4th one coming out next month.

4.0 out of 5 stars Protestant Review, September 19, 2005

This review is from: Systematic Theology, Vol. 3: Sin/Salvation (Hardcover)
The series of books by Dr. Geisler are interesting and he does often refer to the church fathers. What I found sad was he ignored Orthodox Christian points of view and focused on the Roman Catholic points. I believe he could have represented the Orthodox christian view and in some cases found a valuable friend. Oh, well, its the old Protestant vs. Catholic agenda. Overall a good read and would recommend it.
