Color Management made simple,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Monaco Systems EZcolor Software & MonacoOptix XR Hardware Color Profiling Bundle. (Electronics)
This is a color management tool for the rest of us. The combination of MonacoOptix XR hardware and Ezcolor software provides a very simple, straight forward, and effective way to create color profiles for your monitor, scanner, digital camera, and printer(s). The accompanying documentation includes all the step-by-step information you need to allow you to get all of your hardware working off the same palette of colors. The results are immediately apparent and will raise your color work to a new level. If you have ever wondered if you need to know anything about color management, I would say that you are in need of this product. Try it and you won't be sorry.

Fast and Painless Color Calibration,
By
This review is from: Monaco Systems EZcolor Software & MonacoOptix XR Hardware Color Profiling Bundle. (Electronics)
I needed this product much more than I ever thought. I do a great deal of digital photography and have been contemplating selling large prints of some of my work. I use PhotoShop CS2 and had fair success in calibrating my monitors (LCD & notebook) using the program that came with PhotoShop. Then I upgraded the monitor on my main editing machine (went to a 20" screen) and before I got it calibrated to match up with my notebook, the notebook failed. Well, niether the new monitor or the new notebook would give great results on the calibration but I thought they would be good enough. Then I output the pictures on my large format photo printer and about puked. The color was way off, so I just wasted about 5 feet of 24" photo matte paper. So I decided to suspend operations until I could fix this the right way.I bounced around some web sites on photo editing and found that the EZcolor software with the MonacoOptix XR USB Colorimeter seemed to be rated best in this price range (there are options much more expensive that are also rated well, but....). So I also asked some photographers that I converse with online what they thought and they also recommended this package. So I went for it. Within an hour and a half I had everything calibrated (2 monitors, printer and scanner) and couldn't be happier. This software is a snap to use and walks you right through the process (just remember to follow the directions and load the software before plugging in the colorimeter). Now that I have a good calibration I can see how lacking the results were when I first used the software from Adobe. Without a colorimeter, you're just fooling yourself. This is definitely the way to go. |
