You may recognize that message from the cover of the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (the original guide, that is, not the Douglas Adams book named for it). It's an excellent resource, of course, and I hope you still have your copy. But the problem is, you're not a hitchhiker.

If you arrived on this planet without an instruction manual -- which is extremely likely if you're a crawl-in (an entrant through the normal birth process) -- you're probably wondering just what the heck is going on. And you've probably been trying to figure it out for long enough that you've become _extremely_ distrustful -- justifiably! -- of the usual Earth-based sources of (dis)information.

Relax. The truth is, you're operating under deep cover. Your mission required you to forget a lot of stuff, but you forgot just a little _too_ much because -- like a lot of us -- you didn't read your manual before you embarked.

"If at first you don't succeed, read the instructions." You can stop beating your head against the wall; help is here, in the form of emergency reorientation from Mission Control.

What's the mission? Well, that's what Zoev Jho (the former Diana Luppi) wants to remind you of -- or at least just enough of it that you'll remember where to look for the rest of the answers. The heart of the matter is, you're here to help install direct lighting.

How do you know these instructions are meant for _you_? Simple: if you've read this far and this is still making sense, they are. (Oh, there are lots of other, more complicated tests. Maybe you read _One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest_ and knew right away that the Combine was real. Maybe you watched _The Matrix_ and weren't surprised. It doesn't matter; once you've read the manual, you'll know.)

As another reviewer has already aptly commented, you're in the world but not of it. You are _not_ crazy. You are not alone. And you've got a job to do.

Don't forget to apply for a Creative License when you're done with reorientation. And let's be careful out there.

This little book will perk you up when you think you are the only person in the world that 'just doesn't fit in'.

It puts down in words all the things you suspected about yourself. And gives you insight as to why you are out-of-sorts in this crazy world. The author provides some good advice in a hilarious manner on how to carry on. It truely is an instruction manual for life as we know it here on Earth.

If this is how you feel from time to time, READ THIS BOOK. This book, written by extra-Terrans just like you, is your source book for information lost in your transition to this planet. It is a retro-primer to re-introduce you to your past, to set you on your path today, and to plot your planetary evolutionary course. It will assist you on your trajectory towards living freely, it will provide you with the insight to love fully, and it will empower you to eschew obfuscation. Once you complete the course, you are encouraged to apply for your Creative License (issued under the authority of the Inter-galactic Council).

I got hold of this book by it popping down from the shelf where I was standing, wondering what to buy. I just took it, paid, and went straight home and laid the manual on the table while cooking my dinner. Afterwards I read it, three times in a row the same night, and the week after this everything's completely changed. In me, around me, All.This book gave me a total human-identity-what-kind-of-entity-am-I-crashdown.

And then I woke up.

There's only one more thing to say about this:

Are you wondering what the heck is going on and Why I don't get it?? Here's your book, smart, funny and to the point, there are lot's of us out here that feel like there is just so much more and Diana has in a extremely readable manner put it all together. IF you understand what the Apostle Paul meant when he said "You are in this World, but, You are NOT of this World" then get a copy and clear up all those doubts.

I have read this book several times, as I find it to be the indelible truth that is unspoken and deliberately hidden. But in E.T. 101 the matter of a most painful truth is written in such a way, by the blessing of a heart-based delivery, as to place you in the awkward position of feeling both awe and hilarity at once, making you laugh til you cry. The author knows of what she speaks, yes they are already among us, have been for eons...just look at the world around you. This book is a rare jewel and a classic, sans 'caveat lector', from the title cover to the end. All this book contains is integrity and truth in its most concise and succinct form. The author has an impeccable responsibility to every word written such that it remains timeless in its truth and is beautifully expressive of the intelligentsia of her origins. That said, it is dismaying to see this book being hawked here by others for outrageous prices and personal gain for which the author doesn't get a penny. The books being vended here are used or remaindered editions that people are hawking for as much as they can get because the book is out of print and hard to find. However, the author does have new books available for far less, available at the ET 101 (dot net) website. For those sales, she does make rightful compensation.

I highly advise this book for sure, but I also propose that the author benefit from the sale of her work. I highly recommend going back to the source for this one.

Excellent book. Hard to believe it materialized back in the '90's - it's so very current today.

Nice to know "Mission Control" has our back !

For those who know in their heart that there is far more to their existence than collecting more toys, this little gem although now out of print is worth tracking down, easy to read and digest but full of wisdom for first and 2nd wavers of the family of light

I read this book many years ago, when it was first published. Still good today. This one was purchased as a gift.

I loved it. It reads a lot like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy. Is it real? I don't know. But it really did resonante with me personally.
