Amazon.com Review
This full-size, 1,400-watt iron is great for household ironing--it has a slick, tough, scratch-resistant soleplate, which provides a smooth glide, and an anticlogging valve to combat mineral buildup. The valve pulls out of the handle so you can soak it in vinegar or lemon juice and so you can shake water and impurities through the soleplate. For safety, the iron shuts off in 30 seconds if left horizontal or tipped over, and in eight minutes if left vertical. The T-Fal 1824 has a pivoting 11.8-foot cord, a large water tank, vertical steam for removing wrinkles in hanging garments, variable steam for making fine adjustments, and both a misting spray and a steam burst for dealing with stubborn wrinkles and creating sharp creases. The soleplate carries a 10-year warranty against defects, and the iron has a one-year warranty.
