3.0 out of 5 stars Streamlined but has some querks
This T-fal blender is very pretty to look at but it has a few flaws. But let's start on the positive points first:
1. Light weight machine with wonderful aerodynamic shape.
2. Cord storage underneath.
3. Easy to clean pop out bottom blade.
4. Makes very nice smoothies - when you use the pulse control to get things started.
5. Instructions come in...

1. Light weight machine with wonderful aerodynamic shape.
2. Cord storage underneath.

Negatives or Querks in the design:
1. Child proof and rather difficult when you have to make certain the top is on correctly otherwise the blender will not work.
2. Top release also is a little annoying.
3. Very tall machine that I can't fit into my cabinets in one piece.

It looks better than it is ergonomic. However, it's really strong and the range of speed is great. My wife likes it now.

1.0 out of 5 stars Leaks every time, January 15, 2004

I hate this blender. Its on its way back to the store. I've never gotton it to stop leaking. It is very hard to get the top on and off of the base. The base is very lightweight and the top heavy. When it is full of liquid it is very easy to tip over. Junk.

2.0 out of 5 stars Love T-Fal but this product doesn't measure up., September 10, 2002

At first I rated this T-Fal blender 3 stars, but alas after a few more days of trying to use it - well I'm demoting it another star. I still love the shape and the fact that it is so light weight, but the reality check is that it doesn't make a smoothie that well unless you add liquid. I've tried making the pieces of fruit smaller and using easily mushed fruit like watermelon but all to no avail. Normally I love T-Fal products and I have owned their cookware since the mid 80's and it holds up really well inspite of my cooking and throwing everything into a dishwasher. But my mom has an old Oster blender that weighs a ton but makes a smoothie in seconds, and puts the T-Fal blender to shame.

The only redeeming feature is that the bottom blade does pop off making it easy to rinse and put in the dish rack instead of the dishwasher. It's neat the way that it is all in one piece as oppose to more traditional blenders that when the bottom piece comes off it is really three pieces.

The supposed safety feature top that won't let the blender work unless it is snapped closed in it's position, makes it a blender that is wonderful for households with children and for those adults that forget to put the top on a blender before using it. It's idiot proof but a bit annoying.

As for me I'm going to hit the flea markets and find myself an old but reliable Oster.
