I bought this kettle as a gift to myself. I was tired of trying to pry the lid off my old kettle. It was scorching hot and boiled dry more than once. There were no features and that is why it was such an [inexpensive] pot. This was the best gift to myself ever!

The sleek design that comes in white makes it blend with any decor. It takes up less space because it is taller rather than wider. It holds a max. of 7 cups. The downfall is that it measures the water in liters rather than cups. This is easy to deal with because it is such a great product. It works quickly. It also has a cordless base with a cord that stores easily underneath. This helps to hide those ugly wires. I love the fact that you can put the kettle on the base from any direction. It is easy to take to the table when entertaining and it is pretty enough to put on a table.

The see through window makes this a breeze to see how much water is in the kettle and if it is close to being done. The on button is on the handle with a great automatic shut-off feature. This prevents the pot from boiling dry. It also comes with a decalcification filter located in the spout. It can easily taken out and cleaned with vinegar and water. This is great because I have hard water which causes my kettles to become horrible looking. T-Fal recommends that if you have hard water that this cleaning of the filter needs to be done every 10-15 uses but I have used it more with success.

The handle is easy and thick to hold. It is definitely comfortable. The lid is easy to get off and is hinged so that you do not have to pry it off. So many other manufacturers, have such hard lids to remove but not this one.

This kettle boils 7 cups in 5-6 minutes. I actually timed it. My 2 cups of water boils in 2 minutes. This is fast!

In contrast to other tea kettles this kettle is inexpensive and has the same features as many of the other pricier manufacturers. T-Fal is a reputable company and I love my T-Fal Vitesse. I highly recommend it!

Once in a while, you run across a kitchen utensil that is not only handy, but makes a task a joy. This is one of those items. It is fun to take ice cold water out of the Brita Water Filter-Pitcher that is in the refrig, and pour it into the Vitesse High Speed Kettle. No sooner do you flick the button on, in what seems like an instant, you hear it working. The next moment you hear the rolling boil, and the top on button pops indicating it is done, which automatically shuts it off. Takes only a minute. Saves a lot of time when you want to make a cup of tea.
This makes short of a lot of work.
It has a 7 cup capacity, but I have never used it for that much. Two cups, doesn't seem to take additional time, although with a stop watch, I'm sure it does.
Additionally, it is really nice to have the base stay on the counter, and the pitcher be able to be removed. No switch, or button to push. It just sits there by gravity, and effortlessly lifts off by simply picking it up.
You can use the pitcher on your counter top, or table because the bottom does not get hot on the outside. The plastic outer shell extends down to a lip that runs all around the outside. Like if you put a cup upside down, only the outside would be touching the counter.
Convenience, price, great engineering, all make the Vitesse High Speed Kettle a winner to buy. It is almost as much fun as the Black and Decker cordless can opener. Hope this was helpful.

The product is designed to be used out of the box with virtually no instructions needed.

Simply fill the pitcher with water, place the pitcher on the base, plug it in, and push the on button. Within in minutes the water is boiled, and the pitcher will shut itself off.

Cleaning the product is just as easy. Once cooled, use a soapy sponge. If scaling occurs, fill the pitcher with white vinegar (do not heat) and soak for an hour.

I really appreciate that the water produced by the kettle is not bubbling hot so I can drink my coffee or tea immediately. I think temperatures reached through traditional stovetop tea kettles are often too high which can burn the tongue.

I wanted to add to my other review how convenient it is to keep clean. Even though this unit brings an ice cold cup of water to a full rolling boil, in only a minute, that minute is plenty of time to really heat up the inside. What does that mean? Well it makes clean up a non existent chore. When I am done pouring my cup of tea, I simply lift the lid and let the steam escape. Since the inside of the unit is boiling hot, the existing water on the sides and bottom help the water to evaporate completely. So the inside becomes completely dry all by itself in about a minute.
Hot steamy disinfected water, then totally dry, and I mean totally dry with no effort, and no wiping, no soaping, no scrubbing.
I just thought I would mention that. I discovered by accident when I left the lid open. I guess you can tell how much I like this high speed kettle. I came back to write another review. See my first one, This baby is sweet.

After having used this kettle, I can safely say this is one of the best kettles around. The best thing is, it does a great job and looks beautiful too. The filter is easy to clean and the inside is smooth unlike other kettles. If you want a no-hassle goodlooking kettle, go for this one. It's worth the price!

The Bodum Mini-Ibis I bought didn't work, so I exchanged it for this T-Fal Vitesse. The T-Fal is a superbly designed electric teakettle that does just what I want with no fuss or inconvenience. It has been performing flawlessly. It holds enough to fill a large teapot. It heats water quickly. The big windows clearly show the water level inside. You can fill it through the spout, which is not only convenient but also filters your water. The ergonomics are perfect -- the handle is very comfortable and cool and the balance is excellent. Perhaps my favorite single feature is the separate base. You can't see this in the picture, but the power cord goes to the base. It's very, very easy to lift the kettle off the base to fill or pour. I don't have to unplug the thing and drag the cord around. After using this for two or three weeks, I can think of nothing I'd change or add.

I bought this kettle from Amazon probably a year ago, and it's served me perfectly ever since. The only two things that I was a little disappointed about when I first got the kettle were the color of the buttons (gray instead of yellow as it was shown in the picture), and the fact that it didn't have an ON light indicator. The latter was only a problem because I sometimes unplug the kettle and forget about it, then when I press the button to turn it on, I don't realize that it's not on until I check on it a few minutes later and the water is still cold. However, I got used to not having the ON light quickly and it hasn't been a problem ever since. I still give it 5 stars, as for the amount of money I paid for it I got quite a lot - the high quality with which this appliance is built, the size, the speed, the easy to read water level window, the separate base. And it's a beauty too. If you are willing to spend more money on a tea kettle, you can go with a more expensive model that will have a convenient ON light indicator. If not, trust me - you will not regret buying this model.
Update: I bought the kettle in 2002, it is 2007 now and it still works great and looks like new.

I make coffee or tea every day, and this kettle gets some hard use at my house. I love it, the handle stays cool when the water is boiling and it doesn't release that much steam out of the spout. It pours extremely well, it has never dripped. I even use it for cooking as it boils water faster than in a conventional pot on the stove. I highly recommend this kettle!

I purchased this for my husband for Valentine's Day several years ago. He is still using it and tells me it is the best practical gift he has ever received. It does just what it is supposed to do. I'm ordering another for a gift.
