We received this toaster as a gift. It is wonderful. We use it to cook chicken, meatloaf, fish, etc. It is also great for bagels, toast, etc. I think we use it more than our regular oven. It is nice to use in the summer. It doesn't heat up the whole kitchen. Controls are also easy to use. Worth the $$$

Have used this toaster oven for a couple of months. It's really big, takes a long time to toast. Today was the first time I tried the bake feature. Seemed to take a very long time. Put in an oven thermometer, and after 45 minutes, it still had not reached 350. Would not buy this item again.

Best toaster oven oven, by far, that I have owned in my 44 married years. Would advise its purchase rather than economy or super expensive toaster ovens. This one is absolutely perfect in every way.

It's very attractive but disappointed in the oven size. The top warmer takes away from the oven size. Also the timer only goes as high as l hour and 30 minutes. It does cook well.

If you use a toaster oven daily (like I do)- this is the one for you. It is big and toasts/bakes evenly and quickly.. This is definitely worth every penny!

I like the design. I tested the oven with Pillsbury rolls.

It took about twice the amount of time to bake but does not burn in the bottom at all. Tried it again with P. rolls and it helps to turn the temperature up more and preheat. I added a little more time than recommended by the rolls.

I bought this overn for one major reason -- it uses a push-button to toast, versus using an analog timer. I cannot stand the timers; they always break, and of course, they can't take into account the current temperature as a push button can. Nor can you "abort" toasting in process. This toaster will vary the toasting time depending on current oven heat, and it's extremely easy to use. And if you want to stop toasting, it's just a button press, not a dreary wait for a timer to click off. I have not had any of the slow-heating issues others have.

First and most important, all of those people returning their "defective" ovens because of a "grinding" sound coming from the "fan" don't know the first thing about a convection oven, so they're missing out on a great product. It's not a fan, nor is it a grinding sound. It's quite normal and it is only noticeable as the AIR PUMP gets up to speed. After that, it's nothing more than a gentle purring sound. In fact, I just went to the kitchen to move my crab cakes from the MicroWave to the Avante Convection Oven and it sounds less like a purr, than a soft humming sound.

Someone was at least smart enough to compare it to the pumping sound of a dishwasher. I call that smart because that's what they're hearing. It's not a fan; it's an air pump. A fan would never survive the 350-500 degree temperatures of an oven like this. The motor would be right in the path of the hot blasting air.

If not the fan would have to be belt driven (melted rubber anyone?) or gear driven and how would you keep the gears lubricated at 500 degrees?

The bottom line is that this is a great oven for finishing off a quick meal that requires browning, after starting it in the microwave. It's not great as a toaster, but it can't be beat for baking or broiling when you don't need a full-sized oven, and you can reduce the cooking time considerably when baking, thanks to the convection provided by the AIR PUMP!

I did a LOT of research before I bought a toaster oven. It seemed that none of them had good ratings. I have not been disappointed in my purchase of this one. Yes, it's big, and the warming tray takes up a lot of space. However, it cooks evenly, has easy to use controls, and has more than lived up to my expectations. So yes, a toaster oven can function well!!

The toaster oven works OK, but the oven takes forever to heat up, diminishing energy saving benefits. My partner calls it the SUV of toaster ovens -- it is really huge. Next time, I would get the convection oven version.
