I got this for use with my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (Verizon/LTE version) and it works great.

Well, sort of - the phone doesn't seem to recognize a USB thumb drive, but it does work with a USB mouse (and a cursor shows up - neat!) and a random USB device (based on an FDTI USB to serial adapter) we're developing at work. The phone probably lacks USB storage drivers, which is annoying.

So yeah, the adapter works well and doesn't feel too cheap or flimsy. I also like that it wasn't just bouncing around the shipping package like some cheap stuff on amazon - it was in a pretty good quality (for something you'll throw away) ziplock pouch inside the packaging.

Since it works with a few devices I'm sure there's nothing wrong with it - the lack of USB thumb drive support must be something to do with the phone. I'll look into this more and try to update when I can - I'm really interested in having full USB support on the go!

Hi all, I purchased two of the Micro USB Host Mode OTG for my Android Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket cellphone. It allows me to plug in a USB device into the dongle and then plug the dongle into the bottom of my cell phone.
Now I can use a mouse, keyboard, card reader, and a USB flash drive (up to 64 gigs works). ONLY ONE USB DEVICE CAN BE USED AT A TIME, AS FAR AS I KNOW. I can't be happier with the item.
This item arrived from China in perfect condition and I would highly recommend purchasing one if you have a use for it.

I just received this today and wanted to give IT a try on my Samsung Galaxy S3. I had purchased another cable through ebay and it worked flawlessly so I figure to give this one a go. Well big mistake!!! I took the cable, plugged in my USB jump drive and then proceeded to plug the other end to my S3. In a split second my phone went dead. I had hoped that the safety circuitry had kick in and all I had to do was to pull the battery out and reinsert. But to my dismay the phone won't turn on. I tried plugging it into the charger to see if it would turn on but was again disappointed. I felt the phone and noticed that area near the USB plug was warm. I quickly unplug the USB cable from the outlet and am debating what I can do. I tried searching online for a way to maybe reset the phone but found nothing. So I quickly log into my Amazon account to write this review in hopes that I can help someone avert a similar disaster - BUYER BEWARE!!!!

As you can see in the video, the USB OTG adapter works right out of the box with some phones. For more advanced uses for it and unsupported phones, check out the StickMount App on the Play Store. [...] I'd highly recommend this if you just want to add a keyboard to your phone or if you want to hook up controllers to play a video game on it. Like I said in the video I've tested a keyboard and mouse on it, but it did not work for the flash drive, that requires StickMount. At first I was a little worried about order from China but it took roughly a week and a half shipping and arrived working and no problems. It was also $0.83 compared to $20 versions. For $0.83 you aren't really risking anything and might as well get one.

I have tried to make a list of all the supported devices without rooting. I can personally vouch for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus 7, the rest are based on other reviews. I will try to keep this list up to date, so if you know of more devices, please leave me a comment or send me a message and I will add it.

Update: For the Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7, and Motorola Xoom you can download the Nexus Media Importer off of the Play Store to get USB and SD storage. This is great if you need more space to store media that is too big to keep on your Nexus.

I'm currently using this product with my Galaxy S2 GT I9100 and it has been working perfect. Transfer is not slow and tedious; i'm getting about the same transfer speed when using my flash drive on the pc. I don't have the specs of my flash drive right now but its a upper mid range class.

The quality is good and seems very durable, the mating of the ports are very secure; i can leave it to hang while holding the phone in my hand without any weight issue.

At first glance the connector looks fine, but the male micro USB end is not only too long, but it is too small in diameter and fits very loosely in a female micro usb, causing an intermittent connection. There is excessive play and it does not hold firmly in place. I could not get a reliable connection with either a Nexus 7 or phone. I tried bending and applying tape, but ended up throwing it out. I guess I'll try my luck with another from a different seller.

Mine was sold by YANFEN ZHU and I suggest avoiding.
