5.0 out of 5 stars T-Jak tools have many uses
I have the complete set of T-Jak tools and use them all the time. The fine adjustment feature allows me to hang cabinets easily. It also works great when installing ceiling plasterboard. With the Mini-Brute and extensions, I can quickly do many difficult jobs.

3.0 out of 5 stars Works Well, but don't buy the extensions
I am a professional cabinetmaker and I purchased this to help me install cabinets when working alone. I purchased both the Mini-Brut and the large version in addition to the extensions. My complaint is that this is really just metal pipe, some threaded rod and a nifty star nut with some plates top and bottom, all of the parts could be put together from actual supplies...

I am a professional cabinetmaker and I purchased this to help me install cabinets when working alone. I purchased both the Mini-Brut and the large version in addition to the extensions. My complaint is that this is really just metal pipe, some threaded rod and a nifty star nut with some plates top and bottom, all of the parts could be put together from actual supplies that could be had from any hardware store. For this kind of money, you would think that the manufacturers would at least make the parts out of some light weight material. I am not oppossed to paying for someone else's great idea, but when my 12" extension arrived and I realized that it cost me about [money] and that it was literally 12" of cast pipe, and a coupler painted orange that I could have purchased for $3 down the street I was a little miffed.

This product still works great and I will use it almost everyday, but now I realize why they don't sell this thing at retail stores - people would merely replicate it with spare parts after seeing it in person.

Anyone doing any cabinetry work or home remodeling will appreciate this tool. Sturdy, well designed, and perfect for fine height adjustments when mounting cabinets or shelves to walls. This tool made my kitchen remodel project much easier!

This product works as promised. The obvious rip off is that it doesn't reach a full 8' so on must buy one or more extensions.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Like My T-Jak, January 25, 2002

I have used my T-Jak to hang cabinets, install drywall ceilings and support long items, and all those jobs previously needed two people. Its advertisements said that the tool extends to 84" so I did not expect it to extend to 8' (96") without buying an extension. My T-jak and its optional extensions have saved me time, and effort. If you need someone to help support something, you need this tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Paid for itself on first use, January 12, 2008

I am a contractor and can tell you to rest assured that you will not regret this purchase. I ordered this along with the shorter mini brute version and will be leaving the same review for both. Working alone installing cabinets or even the above range top microwaves becomes an accurate "snap" with this product. As you are doing now, I read all the reviews and must admit that some made me wonder why the opinions could vary so much. Some had even mentioned how they could build these themselves with parts from Home Depot. Don't waste your time wondering. You'd be wasting your time running around trying to duplicate it. The "slip" nut is really innovative and ingenious. I WOULD SUGGEST THAT YOU LOOK INTO THE "DRYWALL" VERSION OF THIS PRODUCT because at the time of my purchase, it included a two foot extension at the same cost of this non "drywall" version. The only thing missing with this tool is a good carrying case of some sort. The other thing I will mention to you about these T-Jak tools is to be careful when dismantling them, sliding the threaded part back into the pipe. The threaded piece can pinch your hand if not careful. I highly recommend both T-Jak products.

A third hand on the job, whether you're hanging kitchen cabinets or balancing pictures while you grab your hammer, this simple, light tool is the silent helper you've always wanted. Expedited delivery arrived in time to take the tool to the job site the next day.

I prefer to install kitchen cabinets more or less by myself...it's patient, exacting work that doesn't lend itself to 'advice over the shoulder'. If I need help, it's intermittent 'help me hoist this'. The T-Jak (along with a wall cleat) makes patient (and safe) upper-cabinet alingment easy for me to do by myself...so I can take the time I need to take to get things perfect. Add a pair of Pony 8510 clamps, some trim-head and cabinet mounting screws, a couple of drill bits and good levels, and it will come out right.

5.0 out of 5 stars "T" REFFIC!, July 14, 2009
This review is from: T-Jak TJ-104 Your Hard Working Helper (Tools & Home Improvement)
As a DIY woman, I am often in need of an extra hand or muscles on my projects. I replaced the kitchen cabinets and with an average weight of 40 lbs per unit, the T-jack did just what it said it would do. It is easy to use, adjusts height in seconds, is compact and it is built to last. T-jack saved my neck, back and fingers..... well, worth the price!!!
